question - are Springfield Armory 1911 pistols still being imported into Canada, and if so which dealers tend to carry them??? i've looked through most and can't seem to find anything (or at least no more than 1 piece). are they just all snatched up for now, or did SA stop doing business in Canada with 1911s?

i can find other brands quite easily so no need to tell me to "just buy a Kimber" or "just buy a Ruger", please :)

and no, i do not want a Norinco as a "it'll be good enough anyways" - i had one, and hated every molecule of it.

yeah, Epps is the only place where i found a tiny sample of SA 1911 pistols. all other places only have SA xDM stuff which i don't want.

as far as importing from USA, do i deal with a US dealer directly, or do i have to use an intermediary in Canada? my local gunsmith, or a specialized business? (i'll check that irunguns.ca place just the same)

i don't mind waiting a little bit as i have enough other things to do in the meantime, so let's call this "planning ahead"

Try Wolverine Supplies. They have sold Springfield 1911s in the past.

I think that part of the problem is that Springfield Armory is distributed by R. Nicholls/FN Sports.

Not sure where you are located, but Buffalo Gun Center has a good supply of Springfields and will do the U.S. export for you.
If not,Prophet River in Alberta is excellent for doing import for you.

I've had a Loaded on order for nearly a year, but was told the 1911s weren't even in the catalog for the importer. If you can find one somewhere, please let us know.

Springfield + R. Nicholls = 2 Years and $$$$

You can get a NIB TRP from gunbroker so much quicker and cheaper even with the import/broker fees.

The major turn off for me was the lack of Springfield customer service in Canada.

Try Reliable, I have seen them in their showcases.

Checked there Friday. They have some kimbers, sig tac ops, two s&w(one anniversary edition and one E series rail),
One Christensen and two colt gold trophys... And a couple cheap ones going for 300-400.

No sa unfortunately...
