My 10/22 Trigger Blows!!! Something has to happen to it,driving me crazy and don't even enjoy shooting the gun...

Who does a good trigger job,, and what can I expect to pay...?

Any help would be appreciated...

Do your own, and while you're at it, do the auto bolt release.
Easy, follow the directions carefully.

the best way is to get a volkastren triger its cheap and easy to install just remember to keep the original spring and to trow away the one that comes with the triger

I use KIDD trigger..... I have a 2 stage 6oz trigger pull.... long take up like a military style gun but then, snap like a hymen breakig on an 18 year old virgin.

If your even half way mechanically inclined you can do it yourself. I got all the info I used from ww.rimfirecentral.com

Go slow and test often, it gets easier the more you do.

10/22

Welcome to the world of Ruger 10/22:rolleyes:
Pay good money and then toss half of away,
and then spend more money- but that is the fun of it.

For the relatively low price of an aftermarket hammer, I would not tinker with it myself. I use Volquartzen. Takes 15 minutes, do it yourself, world of difference. The Kidd triggers are very nice but I can't justify the additional cost for a plinking gun.

Hey Guys...

Thanks for the comments...

I would consider doing it myself,, but as Westicle says.. LMAO a 2 stage trigger is the Shizzle and what I'm really looking for... I'll probably have to cheap out and either have it done of do it myself, the 2 stage trigger groups are $3-400 bones...

My RWS Dianas have 2 stage triggers and once use to it,, shooting a $hit Ruger trigger is just downright frustrating.. I simply don't have confidence in the rifle.. Even with the heavy recoil of the RWS 350 I shoot 10X better than with the 10/22... I know it's capable of doing the job,, but only with a better trigger...

Doesn't matter what kind of gun it is,, it's it's got a rough trigger it's useless...

Thanks guys...

Take it apart and polish the parts with 600grit sand paper.

Take pics during disassembly to aid in putting it back together. There are numerous aids online if you don't have access to a digi-cam.

My 10/22 came with a different hammer/sear, the person who sold it to me didn't know the make. It was still quite bad, infact no real difference from a stock trigger.
I did the JB weld job, polished all the trigger parts using my dremel, installed a set screw in the trigger guard, and cut 2 coils off the trigger reset spring. It now breaks at a crisp 2 lbs with zero overtravel and no creep.

-follow the tips on "polishing" and use a dremmel to hone it smooth. also grind that auto bolt release (heart-shape as per directions).
-replace the hammer/sear with a power custom w/adjustable sear.
-replace bolt buffer.
-add an extended bolt release.
-don't forget to buy a couple 25 rounders while you can still get 'em.(BC STEEL lips,or if you can find, a TI-25 composite)
