who does prefit savage barrels in canada ?

looking for a prefit barrel for a savage axis in 6.5x55 swede .... who do i talk too ?

I think IBI and JC custom barrels do. I would check with them.

Depends on whether you means actually builds them, or who is a dealer for the big names and can get you one?

Jerry Teo at Mystic Precision (forum sponsor) has Krieger, McGowan, Shilen, IBI

Hirsch Precision carries Bartlein, Criterion, Krieger, etc.

I just got a Benchmark from Gary at Bighorn Sales a couple months ago. There’s lots out there. Personally, if you’re looking at an Axis, I’d talk to Jerry at Mystic. He’s done a lot of work with the Axis over the years.

I bought a McGowan prefit from Jerry at Mystic for one of my Savage match rifles a few years back - fantastic service and the guy I eventually sold it to shot a five shot , 3/8" group at 100 with it the other evening .
Great barrels and turnaround time was reasonable as well .

i'm pretty sure someone does ...... or is able too , all you need is a barrel blank , reamer , lathe and a skilled machinist .

that said , is there anyone on this side of the border building them is the question , or is it a matter of figuring out how to import them .

one thing i would also look into is how the action is attached to the stock , your starting to get into a heavier recoiling round that might give you issues with one recoil lug
