Just wondering, I have an AG42 with a more than half shot out bore that needs a new tube put on and headspaced and a K98K that needs a new barrel as well. Internet search came up with zip. Anybody know of any reputable smiths that take that kind of work and are familiar with older rifles?

gunco in Ottawa, for the mauser. the ag42 would be cheaper to buy a new one.

It looks like the mauser is going to vulcan, it's going to get a bluing job too. I don't see how the AG42 rebarreling would be more expensive than buying one. I already have a locking shoulder set of various sizes, and a brand new old stock barrel I bought years ago for $40. $300 roughly to rebarrel it, vs $500ish for a new one. I think I'll just keep my old gal and put a new tube on her.

I was thinking you were rebarreling it as in from a barrel blank. not just swapping a barrel.
