Hey there. I have been on the fence about 7.5" ARs for a while. Finally took the plunge and bought a Black Rain Ordnance instead of building one(actually my wife bought it for me for Christmas). UPDATE - Just got it a day before Christmas! More than happy with the attention to detail and quality of this thing! Wow!

Finished building my first AR, wasn't sure about the 10.5 barrel, now I'm glad i did it. That 7.5 doesn't look any less awesome. I am envious. looks like tons of fun. I think a 300 BLK build exactly like this would be perfect, if only we were allowed suppressors I'd get one just like this in 300 BLK right now.

Give us a range report when it shows up.

Definitely. Heard it's taking 2 weeks to clear transfers lately. :(

That is SUPER short for 5.56/.223. Even 10.5 is mighty short.
But it looks cool as heck.

Yeah in the past there were gas and buffer issues with short ARs but they have been addressed. It does lose velocity for sure. Some cqb guys love them. I predict at the very least I will have a smile every time I shoot it. :)

Nice looking rifle and love the compact stock! I had a Dlask 7.5" a few years ago. Loud as h*ll but fun and never short-stroked.
I also had the front angled grip but preferred a stubby. Looking forward to your range report….
BTW…Nice wife. Does she have a sister.

May I congratulate you and your lady on your fine taste in firearms sir?

Why, yes I do have the Black Rain 7.5 Stubbie. The BR likes to throw its brass forward to the right, so by splaying the off hand a bit, you get an excellent improvised brass catcher. My brass lands at my feet. Mine seems to prefer 55-ish grain pills with the best results coming from the Berger HPBT's. They did about 1.4 inches at 50m - but you younger snipers with brighter eyes and steadier nerves might tighten that up a bit. Muzzle blast is over on the rude side - but something a fella can acclimate to. This is a seriously handy gun capable of borderline serious accuracy. I would go so far as to say there are no other guns outside the AR realm that can combine this level of compactness while maintaining this level of accuracy.

It's almost worth putting a precision optic on, but will shine with a chit house low power scope too. All I have is a Cheapo Vortex 3x on mine which is counter-intuitive - it seems odd to me, at least, that a low market $300.00 optic is entirely adequate for a premium PDW.

Post a range report when you're able and we can compare notes.

Thanks fellas. So far tons of stove pipes. Strengthened up the extractor spring and going back today to test. Also broke the bolt catch which I just replaced. Not happy but I have another bolt catch now and not giving up until this is running like a top.

Relax, I'm sure a few tweaks will have it running like top! Mine stovepiped once after about 300~400 rounds of my reloads without cleaning it. Might have been the ammo - it hasn't done it since. How are ya liking that muzzle blast? Haven't shot mine without hearing protection - don't think I want to either...
