Who has a Steyr HS50?

Test mounted it, there's 4-5mm space between the scope and rail which suggests I can even go up to 56mm objective with the same mount.

Will have the scope mounted this weekend and range trip the week after.

Recoil is minimal on a 35lbs gun with an effective muzzle brake.

You do get a good look at both the mag and the magwell near your left cheek, but recoil is quite tame, more like a long push. I video recorded both my son and myself firing my HS50 M1 and the mag and scope don't come anywhere close to kissing our faces. Just be aware and maintain proper shooting position and cheek weld...

I think it has to do with people's perception of a 50bmg having HUGE recoil but when there's a muzzle brake with the heavy weight the recoil is actually quite tame.

I shot the Barrett M99 once (first time shooting 50) and the gun didn't even move. It totally wasn't what I was expecting.

One of my friends out behind my HS50 recently...it's a real "head turner" at the range (plus the crazy muzzle blast certainly leaves a certain "impression" on the line!)
