First, I've read all the posts about 9mm 1911 I could find.

Second, my first choice would be a Dan Wesson PM9, but they are not available in Canada. I considered importing one, but I'm afraid to get into that complicated process since English isn't my mother tongue.

I'm thinking of alternatives: Trojans seem to be liked by their owners, but I can't get my paws on one before I order/buy from mail. Also, a local shop is about to get some Kimbers. He will receive a Custom SS Target II in 9mm. Maybe that could cure me for a while.

Opinions would be appreciated.

Some days, I feel like I should try import my holy grail since the model is no longer in production, but I scares the #### outta me.

Cheers,

I owned a lot of Gov 1911's, ex: Colts, Springs, Thompsons, Paras, Norcs ...but always I kept my Kimber Custom II SS as the "crown jewel"
Kimber is one of the most tight, accurate, reliable out of the box, one pistol with super quality craftsmanship !

+1. I shot Custom II SS in .45. I own a Trojan with RecoilMaster in .45. Although I love my Trojan (no smarta*s comments, please), the Kimber felt & shot better for me. IMHO, it has a superior trigger, with no free play at all.

I have no experience with those models in 9mm.

Mike I'm the Montreal area.
I should also have mentioned that I already own a Kimber Gold Match SS in .45. The thing is great. Now that is it adjusted, it shoots a big hole in the middle. Both fit and finish are awesome. Is the finish on the Custom II as nice as this?
