30-30
Long story short,
After many years of using high powered rifles with variable scopes, decided 3 years ago to only hunt with a Marlin 336 in 30/30 with a 4 power scope. Shot a nice big bodied whitetail at what i thought was about 150 yards. Walking it out it was over 185 yards. Using factory 170 grain bullets, which shot great out of the thing, the deer dropped where it was feeding. Made me rethink all the rifles I have played around with over the years. So now in the cabinet is a 22-250, two 243's and one 30/30, a winchester 1894 saddle ring carbine made in 1922 and was my grandfathers.
