Well I have always been reluctant to buy Taurus firearms because of the poor customer service in Canada, if something breaks you are screwed mentality. Well I bought a nice little revolver Model 90 .22lr and it is missing a part for the rear sight. It has a breakdown schematic on the back cover and lists it as a complete unit Rear Sight 31-27010. So I phoned to Miami to see if I can order the part and the response I got word for word was "What the hell is a model 90?" no such model number. I read him the serial number and the original box and after I said I live in Canada I got the official "Oh,Canada Huh, well alot of the earlier models came straight from Brazil and never were imported to the US". I said the Miami address is right on the back of the owners manual. So then he gave me R. Nickels 1-888-442-9215. I phoned them and they gave me the official run around with the "you need to order one thru your local supplier" and then gave me P&D Enterprises and Milarm. Well I was skeptical about phoning either one because customer service is not one of either of there finer points. Phoned P&D and as expected was told they don't stock Taurus Parts and can't get them. Phoned Milarm and same story only they at least tried to help and suggested SIR in Winnipeg. Phoned them and was laughed at (all most) and basically said sorry. Tried Western Gun Parts and nothing. Does anyone actually know where you can get Taurus parts in Canada? Any help or suggestions would be great.

Striker: Thanks for the link. They list a Model 90 part number and as your link shows the same part for the model 83. I also checked all the other Taurus schematics and they only use two drawings for all the different models. I noticed also that the part I need is a 721320B and there are some A variants to make it alot more confusing. The part they actually show doesn't look like what I need but I think I will go ahead and order it anyway because as stated before they use the same picture every time and the worst that could happen is that I am out the shipping if I need to return it according to there web site. Funny P&D flog Taurus but when the chips are down and you need service, "sorry we don't do that and we can't help you".

Hi everybody, a little story from years ago, before all the C68 crap,
I took a 4" Taurus 22 rev. in on trade for $20.oo as it was in horrible
condition, bulged barrel, no finish ,etc
Was going to part it out, but thought what the h..., They advertize
lifetime warrenty, so boxed it up and of to Brazil with a note asking
what could be done about it, expecting to get a note back with a
tough sh"".
Low and behold in awhile got a box in the mail from customs and inside
was a new 22 rev, and a note thanking me for the busness.
Those where the days!
And to top at off, I had never dealt in this line at all.

I noticed that when I was copying the link..so I double checked to make sure I clicked on the model 90 which I did. It must be a generic pic like you said.

I spent four years getting a new firing pin for a Taurus 22 revolver. Taurus U.S.A. would not ship the parts to Canada even though they had them in stock. They recommended I contact S.I.R. and R. Nickels. The parts man at S.I.R. told me they had been waiting on a Taurus barrel for over two years and Taraus U.S.A. would not ship to them either. R. Nickels infomed me they do not deal with the public and to order the parts through a dealer. I ordered the $1.09 U.S. part through Milarm and P&D fully intending to pay for both is they ever came (that was three years ago). R. Nickels would not deal with them either, nor would Taurus U.S.A. A friend of mine in the U.S. bought the firing pin and shipped in an envelope - his bill $1.09 for the part and shipping from Taurus U.S.A. I am eternally gratefull to him - and I will never buy another Taurus until Taurus.

BTW: I called Taurus in Brasil and they said that Taurus U.S.A. would repair the gun or ship me the part - no problem. Taurus U.S.A. told me repair was out of the question as they were in the U.S. and I was in Canada.

10X: Exactly what I was thinking of doing. I have lots of cousins in the states and I think I will phone Miami tomorrow and get the exact part number and get my cousin to buy it for me and then send it up in box. Unbelievable, I went thru the exact same thing you did with all the dealers you stated. It really opened my eyes to the horrible service that Taurus has in Canada. In the US it is a different story. Here you almost need to be a gunsmith to repair anything in a timely manner. I will never buy a Taurus again that is for sure unless they open an authorized dealer in Canada, and to be frank why would they, we are just a very small market to them, California has more people in it alone than all of Canada has total.
