Who has Savage FV-SR in stock?

what rings are you guys using....I have set of high rings but its just tooo high....recommendations would be great thanks
 
I think I had 30mm low weaver 6 hole rings on my last one with a 50mm objective but that was 2 yrs ago so I could be wrong. The EGW base is unreasonably tall at any rate.
 
My only set of extra rings I had laying around are a set of high rings that I'm using with a 40mm scope. It is unreasonably high, unless you prefer a chin weld over a cheek weld. Gonna go find some low rings to use instead this week.

thats exactly what i have to do...but man sometimes finding 30mm rings for a descent price (that are in stock) can be tough
 
Check out utg rings on amazon. I use the qd medium ones on my 10/22 take down, and they have held up perfectly, even the QD feature has been great! They are only like $20-$30 so if they dont work out you're not out much, can use them for light mounts too (or mod one up for a Gopro mount like I did).

I think I might check out the low "max strength" non-QD ones this time, and have them as back ups at worst. part no RG2W1104

Thanks man i appreciate it...I just bought some low Leuopold Rifleman rings at my local LeBarons store...i wont know if they fit well until I get home later tonight...But I will definately let you guys know and post a picture! Thanks
 
I saw that too, I coulda swore it said $375 when I looked. I could be wrong tho, even $325 is pretty steep!
AAAAND if you look at the rear of the bolt it looks like it's been worked in pretty good....

I mounted my scope with the new rings and its much better but im not getting the cheek weld I want...any of you using a riser?
 
There was a great looking cheek rest I was debating before I changed out my stock, they made it in leather and wet suit material. Forget the name but try googling "wet suit cheek pad" or something. They are American but will ship to us.

Yup I still have to crap stock on there. I want to upgrade eventually but no extra funds right now to do so. Btw where did u get ur trigger guard and bottom metal piece from when u switched over?
