who here has a NEA AR-15 in .22LR?

I have a dedicated upper...it's excellent now but it didn't come that way out of the box. When new, I couldn't put a string of more than 3 shots together. I tried to get it to cycle myself but ultimately gave up my workarounds and just called NEA. Their service Dept was great...took the upper back and swapped out the firing pin (original was too short) and installed a new barrel extension. Runs like a top now.

I use both Black Dog and the included IMI mags.

My advice...if you get / have one and it isn't cycling, don't waste your time trying to fix the issues...contact NEA and let them fix it. Was a PITA at first but now that it's fixed, I enjoy it alot.

hey Inn, which mag's feed better, the BD or IMI? have you tried any drums with adapters?

Both types feed well but the black dogs are smoother...I notice it more when loading than anything...springs and followers feel better...can't describe it better than that.

Haven't tried a drum yet but will probably pick one up in the near future.

Agree the black dogs load/feed better. I have had much frustration with mine it's a 7.5". Sounds like same problems as inn. They are a running a cheap ass chiappa bolt. I have yet to send mine away. When it cycles its accuracy is acceptable 2moa. It's not gonna drive tacks lol. wish it would run like my 10/22
