Who here has found the best score on a red rifle?

In the last two years my best buys were 2 chinese SKS's at 130.00 each and 2 mosins for 110.00 each. Plus taxes.

Just picked up 3 more 1440 rnd crates of chinese 7.62x39 for 199.00 each plus tax. Not rifles but I still feel like I scored a little bit.

1927 tikka stepped barrel mosin for 150+ tax. mint 1944 sako m39 for 300 . 1940 tula capture sniper repro and a 1944 tikka 91/30 barreled action with 200 rds of ammo for 275. 1942 svt sniper complete wit repro mount and scope for 300...i am allways on the hunt.

Shucks that Darin removed me, Kinda wanted to come up to CB for that Milsurp shoot..

Shortly before the LGR came into effect I bought one of my first milsurps, a 1946 Mosin M44, Ishevsk arsenal I think. I picked it up at a gun show for $35 (no I didn't forget a 0) including a box of Norma 7.62x54R which was, at the time, selling for near $50 a box in stores. So basically, I got a good deal on a box of ammo and a free rifle.

It's no beaten-up old war horse either, this rifle has a mint, shiny bore and looks like it was never issued. Still had a few bits of cosmoline in the crevices when I bought it.

Does being given an Chinese SKS for free count? I got one from a relative...in a Tapco stock with a mounted scope on it. Also came with about 400 rounds of copper washed ammo.

$300 for a 91/30. bolt was ziptied shut and the extractor was completely sheered off. Bore wasn't too pretty but cleaned up well enough. It was a gunshow special and I was new to collecting at the time.

I have words for the fellow that sold me that rifle, if I ever see him again.

Unfired M59/66A1 for $375 shipped on the EE in 2014

$200 1942 SVT-40 stock still in cosmoline.

Dec. 2013 - $199 for a '43 SVT-40 in an AVT stock.

Such a good deal I bought 2 !!!

Yup, that was a great Christmas. $200 SVT-40's for EVERYONE (who was paying attention at the time). Mine was a great condition, all matching (except the magazine) 1940 SVT-40 - no ###X's on the stock, the only electro-pencilled ##s were on the gas piston.

Ya, no kidding. I wish I would have had the money for 4. Originally I was going to buy 2, but figured on playing it safe and see what kind of rifle I'd get. I regret that decision. kind of hard to make decisions when the dealer has marginal reviews. Hind sight is 20-20.
To be honest, I had money in hand from the secret slush fund waiting and praying the deal would pop up again this past Christmas. Wishful thinking, maybe, but with my luck, if I didn't save the money some amazing deal would have popped up. Hoped for a SVT sale, got skunked. I was able to get in on a wicked SKS deal through another member here, group buy. A "new" sks for sub $200 all in, I couldn't go wrong. Landed a real nice SKS. I love it when a plan comes together.;)

I hope there will be some killer deals in the future for reds, but I'm not holding my breath, seems like there is a stress on supply.

Bought an almost new double stack washer and dryer for 150$ and buddy threw in a barley used sks-d with ammo. Or at least that's how I told it to.the wife.

Not sure if this counts because all of these purchases were back in 1985. Finn M-91 $55.00,Finn M-27 $45.00,Complete matching Ishevek sniper $450.00.Just have to account for inflation.
