I'm wondering who here shoots the Tanfoglios? I've got a Gold Custom which I just had the chance to try out the other day, I can't believe how slick it shoots. I also had a Stock model which I sold a while back (shoulda kept it!) What do you guys have?

I do. I have a Stock and a Combat. These are very good guns. It is my understanding that Tanfoglio makes all Jericho pistols under contract as well as some CZs. In my opinion, Tanfoglios are high quality, and very reliable.

I have a Stock 1(dont see many of them around, has short rails, bull barrel, chrome finish). Its a fantastic gun, very accurate and I cant remember last when it had a malfunction.Ive got about 20K through it.Ive used it for a season for IPSC production and was very happy with it.

At one stage I also had a CZ shadow, but much preferred the Tanfoglio, way more sophisticated and better finished than the CZ.I sold the Shadow.

A few of the guys at my club have the Stock 3 which is also a very nice piece.

Another factor in getting a Tanfoglio is that Freedom ventures give great service and have all the parts you may need(not that Ive needed many for my Tanfoglio!

interesting thread. i'm playing with the idea of a stock3 unit.got a shadow for couple years, sold it , never felt comfortable with the rear-front balance of that gun while i'm raving about my tactical sport . 40. Wonder what would be the best value-reliability 40SW model in the tanfoglio line up.

I would love one of their open pistols.

Some day....

I have the Model "L", a five inch. Works great for IPSC Standard with the .40 top end and better with the 9MM top sitting on it for our steel shoots. Even works with .40cal loaded down to 130pf using 180 gr bullets. Virtually no recoil. +1 on Freedom Ventures service. Thr gun is down in price from what I paid for it. Worth a look if you want to keep the purchase under a grand.

I have also used the gun in IDPA ESP Division.

Take Care

so you sure you don't want to sell that to me? lol

loved everything about the stock 2 I reviewed on my site, except the trigger. However it was the old trigger and I hear the new one is much better. If the person who owns it ever gets it replaced I'll update the review

I'll have to see if I can adjust to shooting with an optic first! If I let it go, I'd be looking for a different high end target pistol or open sight Tanfoglio. I gotta say the Tanfoglio's I've had are sweet, and I've owned a lot of pretty nice guns. I will most likely get the 9mm barrel for it in the next while, either that or I have to get all the extra stuff to load 38 super which I'm not overly keen on.
