Who in BC has bought a pistol from Marstar?

I have not yet joined a club--trying to decide which one.
Does Marstar ask for proof of your club status before you can order a handgun?
Thanks

I got a restricted rifle from Marstar a while back, I don't think they asked which club I was going to shoot it at. I think that's entirely up to the CFC for that business.

Just tell them a club. They won't ask for proof. It is the CFO that asks, not the dealer.

OK, I get it. CFO not the dealer.
Now, does the BC CFO need proof of club memebership to put the transfer through?

Basically, I want to buy a pistol and then join a club.
Just wondering if this is possible in BC or do I have to do it the other way around?

This is my first restricted transfer, can you tell? :)

the Club will apply for the ATT for you, or you can apply for it yourself

you must be a club member to obtain an ATT (other than the temp one you use to take the pistol home)

This seems to be an Ontario thing. I don't believe anyone out west operates this way. In Manitoba we apply for our own ATTs.

No proof that I have seen. They do ask me occasionally what club my customers is a shooting at and I tell them. They don't check.

In B.C. you apply for your own ATT and when you get it , it says you have to have a current valid club membership card with you as well as the ATT as well as your Gun Registration papers. It used to say invalid if you didn't have your current club membership card with you.

Yes, in BC you apply for your own unlike Ontario. However, mine says nothing about having my club membership card with me. I can go to any club with only the ATT and registration.

I ordered a NP-29 from marstar on Dec 15th, still hasnt shown up :( damn gov and the holidays set things back.

marstar asked me the name of the club I was going to shoot at, but did not ask for proof. they also asked me for my pal number, but did not require that I send them a photo copy.

when I called into apply for my ATT they informed me I had to download the form and fax it in, despite the website telling me i could apply over the phone.

the ATT form asks what club you are a member of, but does not require a photocopy of your pal nor club membership card or member number. I still havent reseived my ATT yet either.

so one thing to remember is, whatever you plan todo, be prepared to wait... nothing moves fast through gov lines.

I bet the poster is in ONT...They have it rough out there.
If you had read the post more thoroughly you would have seen the poster was asking who in B.C had bought from Marstar.Ontario restricted shooters don't have it any rougher than anywhere else in the country. You should get your facts straight before you post.
