Who in Canada stocks RIA 1911 GI Models?

I was looking at these too, but at the prices that they now command, I think the Ruger SR and the Remington are better deals.

Get the SAM.....same thing basically, wolverine has them for $440

The SAM looks like a great deal.

Is there any reason why you aren't thinking of Norc?

I have, and have had many Norcs...... and original Colts/Remingtons as well.
IMO the Norc line of 1911 guns are just not quite there in terms of quality - and require further time & money to get them
where I want them to be.

I want something I can afford today, but is a few notches above what Norinco offers out of the box.

Both the SAM and RIA appear to offer that.

I have a SAM Commander-E that I bought slightly used for $400.00 to my door. It had feeding issues with the home loaded semi-wad cutters so I now shoot hard cast 230 grain round nose with no problems. The E versions have bigger rear sights than the military GI type and the finish is matte black rather than blued (see picture above). I am seriously considering getting a full size military in 9mm just for cheap plinking. All of these guns have a 4140 stainless steel slide and frame with a 4140 hammer forged barrel which works with my cast bullets perfectly.

I was looking for a standard GI model, so I picked-up the RIA 1911 GI Parkerized 45 ACP..... Based on popular opinion (Canada & US blogs) the RIA's
rate better than current (similar models/price point) SAM, Iver Johnson and a couple of others. I suspect this is going to do exactly what I need it to do.
Fingers crossed.....
