Who is buying a Type81?

The bbl shroud on those is not the same as a PLA muzzle. The metal is parkerized, while TI said they asked for bluing. And the stock is stained (black?) TI said the production stocks would look more like a PLA stock set.

It's interesting that the box has cutouts for one 30rd and 2 shorter (10rd?) mags. I hope we will get some short mags for actual field use.

LOL.

So lemme get this straight: Countless guys pre-paid $1000 for a rifle that has not even started production, the dealer with their cash has no idea what's going on, can't provide any updates, and has now locked the only thread where they were even communicating with people about this.

Beautiful.

So glad I stopped doing business with TI after the SG542 mess.

FRT is there and as we know FRTs are not exclusive and neither guaranty of sole import rights. There is a chance someone else may order them as well. Nothing is exclusive

If there is an FRT. We are left with 2 possibilities. Either Polytech is slow or someone has problems raising capital to finance the project. Knowing Chinese manufacturing and business operating methods. I do not think Polytech has production problems. It is provably the other reason.
For all of us who are on the fence on this gun including me, it would be best for TI to be straight. If we know it is just a financing problem I will put my pre-order tomorrow to help out and get this gun here ASAP

Yeah Claven2, I put down $1000 on what I consider to be an interesting rifle on a pre-buy contract fully aware of the complexities of this sort of order. With both eyes open I am fully aware this may take awhile and am completely at ease that I'll see it when I see it. I'm not a child and if I don't wish to play anymore I'll contact the seller and negotiate a refund without need of thumping my chest which appears to be the norm here. You spend much time posturing and yacking about absolutely nothing of consequence regarding this pre-buy yet you claim to have no dog in this fight so why the interest? To save me from myself no doubt.

I highly doubt it's a financial issue....what do you think TI is paying per firearm per magazine? You gotta at least double your money or its not worth the import.....saying that TI is paying no more than 500$ CAD per rifle probably less? and 10$ to 15$ per mag......what you guys think?

Because I'm stalking you all over the internet to post about the type 81. Not.

I like the rifle, but I don't trust the seller. I'm hoping someone else is bringing them in so there's a real chance to own one ;)

So if it is lets say $400 per rifle. Knowing Polytech it is probably 2000 minimum order 2000x$400 it is $800000.00 it is a serious chunk of change. That is going to major wholesaler like North Sylva or Big Rock territory

Thanks, that made me laugh, I felt like a celebrity until the "not" thing. rotfl.

I'm thinking TI is your best bet for for owning one sooner rather than relatively later. Hoping anyway.

I would really like to preorder, however I don't think I have the patience this go around. I waited patiently for the 542 from Tactical Imports and it was not a good time.

You should be weary of any business that asks you to prepay in full and doesn't offer a solid delivery date. What are you guys who prepaid going to do if TI goes out of business next week, the week after or next month? If the speculation that they're having financial problems and can't pay their supplier (Polytech) is true, you're taking a hell of a chance. Being short on capital and inability to pay suppliers is a good indicator of where things might be headed for a small company.

From what I've read so far in the different threads, they're not very forthcoming with the reasons for the delays... and resort to petty bickering with thread "trolls" instead. I'll definitely wait till the goods are available in stock and ready to ship. This whole "prepay a grand and wait a year or two while we keep you in suspense" thing is nonsense.

Good luck, everyone.
