Who is buying a Type81?

For those saying they didn't get the e-mail, did you check your spam/junk folders? That's where mine was hidden.

Done, nothing. They had no issues sending me my receipts (did not get to junk folder) EDIT - I just checked again, I now have the email. Came into my inbox 1535 hrs today. Not sure why delayed, but wanted to identify this, in fairness to TI.

$1000 per rifle. 1000 rifles. That's a million in inventory. Even if the rifles cost 500 per unit, that's half a million out of pocket.

Not every company can swing that.

And although that is really not a great pile of money, for that amount, seems TI has too many "I don't know" things going on. Example - I can't even imagine what level of genius it takes, to announce pre-orders; take full payments; estimate a date; claim production is scheduled in the queue; then MONTHS later actually state "we did not know the T81 is rarely produced on the line". Kudos to them (TI) for admitting publicly that they were that clueless and uninformed about what they were doing with somewhere between half and a million dollars of other peoples money. Long way from what I would call a "confidence inspiring update".

Not a scared tactic....REALITY.... ive played the game on other firearms before.....not buying into the pre order at a locked in price.....when the firearm became available for purchase it was 199$ more.....when these do hit canada "which they will" TI can charge whatever they want......I can almost guarantee a price increase on 99$ to 199$ on these......and guarented people will still buy one....really considering using the 50$ to order a folder.....you guys can say what you want....I do have a feeling that these could be the first and last batch to come to canada

And I interpret that reality to be one of the final straws to kill the deal for me. If you have a major malfunction with yours, then what? Production is stated as "seldom" at best.

Anyway, enough negativity from me. I have nothing else to contribute, once I get my refund back (so I'm still technically "IN" right now).

To all of you going for the long haul - enjoy!

So a good marketing plan would be to give CGN a 1 week warning of a price increase for the pre-orders.
Kind of a last chance before production starts.... Then they have a better idea of ordering 300 or 3000???

There is always the chance the price will change. It is what it is right now. If the price goes up they have no obligation to warn anyone. The price has been what it currently is for a year now.

To be honest I hope the price does go up as it would make a gun I have invested into worth more, furthering the perks of holding tight to my pre-order. As someone mentioned previously I don't know of a savings account I could have stashed $1000 in for a year and made enough interest to buy a sling, magazine, $50 credit and possible price adjustment bonus. Keep in mind this only comes to light if we actually do receive these guns.

Still get the $50 gift certificate and your money back if it doesn't come.

Chinese on-line retailers sell rifle slings from $3,- and free shipping. The mag from the chinese factory direct maybe $5,- if even - equals 0.8 % interest/gain on your thousand dollars.
$50 gift certificate/ Great - make sure to spend exactly $50,- and hope for free shipping lol.

Doesn't matter what the mags cost to make... when we can't buy them for that value. Market value is market value.

Unless you have a source that will sell the mags at a cost of $5 to us...

I'm conflicted. Part of me wants to order a folder to go with my fixed stock model.. Part of me wants to just wait it out over one model and call it a day. These better be in production by summer or I'm going to take it as a sign

Is your $$ guaranteed if they don't?

Are you still in icelink?

"Then why post?"

Because I think most posters just think products should appear in front of them if the poster throws his money down. I have no skin in this game as I said before, I will wait until a bunch are brought in and go from there.

The business has had a previous import fail. Ok. So be it. Get on your soap boxes and lament about how you put your cake on the table.

TI is mum at this point and I don't blame them. Have you ever tried to import something in quantity, expense and quality from China before - I have. Its not fun. I can only imagine trying to get a firearm approved, made and imported.

Pull your deposits. Besides, its only a small loan to finance the whole thing. Perhaps another importer will carry the order through.

The risk is so huge that few organizations can take it on assuming minimum orders.

Sorry it hasn't worked out to date and that's why complaining about non-delivery is a colossal waste of time.

Pullout pullout pullout. Another importer will get the job done fast.

please explain how another importer will take TIs spot in line?....TI stated that poly has confirmed there spot for July production....then after that the factory will be busy for 3 years and a massive AK run.....unless another importer has already reserved their spot in line that we dont know of its not gonna happen

That factory...

There are other factories. TI has not said what Factory they are dealing with through Polytech.

Canada Ammo through Dominion Arms deals with other factories. Factory 36 for example. And others as noted on their M305 imports.

I think all the importers will get them at the same time but TI heard about it first and snagged every bodies money and now back pedalling for the last 2 years. But they have your money. This is like buying a house not built yet. Don't do it.

They are all on their own seperate path.

TI submitted their own to the lab for classification. They didn't hear about it first, they were the first to try it. From scratch. Other importers are now trying to capitalize on that effort. Free market capitalism.

Canada Ammo's is a different model with a different FRT. Their first attempt was C/A and thus prohib. I'm hoping they are trying again. This alone shows they aren't all dealing with the same factories or import schedules.

And it isn't like buying a house that isn't built yet, it is like putting up the collateral on a conditional purchase. No house, money back.
