Who is buying a Type81?

You know as well as everyone a lot of fools hold credit card debt all the time. That being said I would assume a lot more hold some debt all the time. So unless you hold no mortgage or credit line, you hold debt. You are paying interest on the purchase of 2 years ago.
As for free money, they are not giving money they are giving credit. Store credit probably costs them $30 on the $50 voucher. As for getting money when buying a gun, it happens all the time. Several companies offer rebates when purchasing a gun.
All I'm saying is I wish I kept my money in my pocket all these months.

Instead of complaining why not just as for a refund how long ago then!?!?!?!?

I guess that's where I different from everyone else, I use my CC then pay it off in FULL every month

It will be interesting to see what the retail price resets at after the pre-order is over. Judging by the direct competition dildocz West Rifles excellent offering I wouldn't be surprised if price goes up 4-500 dollars or more if early reports indicate no issues with the quality. Also wouldn't be surprised if the RCMP tried to pull a fast one.

I'd like to thank all those in the industry who work tirelessly to bring new rifles into our small Canadian market, Seems like our NR choices continue to grow and become more interesting. I'd also like to thank all those who accept the pre-order terms for many of these rifles. Pre-orders aid in reducing the risk in these risky ventures and benefits everyone....a thankless job to the coattail surfers obviously.

T97 went from $1150 to $700 retail all while our dollar tanked by 30cents...why would these go UP in price? Availability doesn't look like it's going to be any concern.
The novelty will wear off fast on these like the T97, once the panic buying subsides the only way to move niche guns like these is to sell them cheap.

I would not link a conventional 7.62x39 rifle with lots of hunting potential in with a low-end 5.56 plastic bullpup that can't be practically used left handed.

These t81's will be competing with the sks-d used market and the vz58 clones. The vz58's, in particular, are not sold cheap and seem to sell just fine.

But we shall see.

I'm hoping a decent red dot optic mount is devised, or possibly a mount suitable for. 1-4x scope of some sort. Also polymer stocks, and some shorter 5/10 or 5/20 mags would be great.

I think the biggest panic buy right now is the cz858 surplus rifles in various forms. They got sold so well based on their look. (you all know what I am talking about) they went from $600 to around $1300 with same quality of mismatched surplus parts yet people are buying them like crazy. once T81 hit the market, the cz858 novelty will take a huge hit because t81 looks more similar to that thing we all wanted.

Similarly, let's wait for the f90 so that all the other bullpups are put to sleep in their right places.

I expect the aftermarket crowd will eventually step up like they did for the Czech guns.

For 1000 rifles in Canada, I'm figuring the aftermarket will be jumping all over this, for the pure cash windfall it will be. Such a large market available and virgin, why would they not invest a pile of R&D into making some bits that work.

Going to leave mine stock. Ordered this gun to have it as an addition to my collection. NOT to mall ninja it into something it isnt like all the SKS bubbas out there!

Aftermarket spare parts for the gun will interest me though...

I share that sentiment. Thanks, in part, to The Vicar's Cross double IPA the other night I now have three coming in. Life is good.

I believe it is 1000 units of each stock type. So 1000 folder and 1000 fixed, plus whatever else can be brought in from poly's remaining stock. Definitely worth some aftermarket r&d but for me to put anything aftermarket on mine it'd have to be top notch. The quad rail fore end is straight from poly and is what the police units use on theirs. If it makes takedown a pain I wouldn't be into it though.

Any receiver optic mounting options for the t81?

Zero, other then the ridiculous overpriced $200 cheese grater Chinese forend TI is also offering.
Personally, those $700 modded M14's that take AK mags are looking like the most functional of the new x39 non-res to hit the market.

It's been stated many times...1000 rifles total, 500 of each.

If you think only 1000 rifle's will be imported, I have swampland in Florida for you...

Also, they type81 is issued in Bangladesh already with synthetic stocks, so someone makes them already.

Until ti fessed up that Polytech kept the production line going and made well over 1000 rifles in the Canadian configuration.

The chicoms aren't dumb, they remember that they eventually have sold every M14 receiver they ever made. It won't take long before TI or a competitor buys up the large production over-run and more are available.

Just mho...

Just an opinion snowflake. The M14 7.62x39 has very good irons and optics can be mounted easily. People are already wanting to mount "optics" on the T81 without even shooting them lol. Probably a sign this isn't the right rifle for you if the first requirement is "how do I put a scope on it?"

Mike, I don't think anyone wants to put a 10x scope on them, but I'm starting to feel my age and a red dot optic would be a nice touch.

I've had a few m305's and every one I had needed lots of help to run right. Great rifle's, but they were almost partially assembled "kits" in my experience.

Still whining i see. Judging by the tone of your posts, i can't help but think this isn't about guns nor gun retailers, but more about your oil change being long overdue.

Youza.
