Yep. Van Jones thinks the frt entry is a big nothingburger. You heard it here first.

Hey, the RCMP did it to Wolverine with the "Spartan's"..... exactly the same rifle they had imported for years with new wood on it, deemed prohibited as the new wood required a new FRT entry and the RCMP are running the country now.
Guess what's different about the T81 lab sample and the shipment?
Lol
From my understanding that whole fiasco involved a converted auto receiver that was exempt by name. The RCMP used an advertisement to suggest it was a new model that was no longer exempt by name. If these receivers didn't deviate from what was initially shown to the lab there would still be no grounds to prohibit/restrict the T81.

Have it from a very good source that these will be reclassed prohib by the time they hit our shores. This is essentially their way of punishing various importers for bringing rifles like this in.
ROFLMAO....another bull#### secret source. Get a clue. They CANNOT be reclassified. Their classification is locked in and became locked in 12 months after the FRT was issued.
TI has made a point of saying this Canadian run was blended with a military contract!!!
So as long as the receivers got pulled from the line before extra holes were drilled??
Should be O.K. But who knows ?? Only careful examination will tell if holes have been filled???
The only possible hiccup would be if the extra ribs in the bbl prompted the horse cops to argue it's a different model. But that's doubtful. The t81 was classed NR under the libs. If they had wanted to abuse their authority, they'd have done it last year during initial classification.
The VZ has long been on the RCMP short list, confirmed via access to information. They viewed them all as converted autos, which is understandable given the receiver mods done in CZ.
They never went after the new-made receivers from csa, Westrifle, et al.
The only reason that they got away with that with the CZs was because the company themselves called them the Spartan model - for which they issued a different FRT and classified them as prohibited. Had the importer not effectively changed the name, they would have had the same FRT as the rest of them which were classified by OIC as non-restricted. In this case, even if there is a cosmetic barrel difference, they are not changing the name or model number. There are a bunch of new Canadian assembled CZs about to hit the market - all classified as res or non-res based on barrel length.
No, I was referring to when the RCMP reclassed the cz858 and Swiss arms and the CPC had to legislate them NR by name.
If your talking about the WR762 its certainly not a Canadian assembled CZ. Its a totally Canadian made receiver with some CZ parts added and given a FRT as a Canadian manufactured firearm. At this time they are all classified non-restricted as they only come in the longer barrel length. There are a bunch of new Canadian assembled CZs about to hit the market - all classified as res or non-res based on barrel length.
