Who is hunting with a 30-30 this year...and what are you hunting?

Yup. Picked up a 1971 mod 94 this summer for cheap, so why not use it this deer season, right? As it turns out, I am a good shot with it, too!

Taking my Marlin 336 out Nov 3rd. My Tikka .300 Win Mag has sat in the safe for a few years now. Low recoil and a freezer full of meat. You can't argue with results.

At my camp in northern Ontario, I hunt from a tree stand in some thick bush. My 336 30-30 with a Leupold 2x7 (sorry she's scoped lads, the eyes, the eyes) works so well in this environment.

Nice levers, guys. I've been eying a Marlin for a little while. Last weekend I passed my hunter's ed. Looks like I really have no excuse now.

My Marlin 30-30 will make the trip this year but demoted to backup rifle.. Hunting whitetails in southern SK this season and the shots could get a little bit long. Feel more comfortable with a tight grouping 25-06 A-bolt.
