Who is selling decent new SKS rifles?

Beer,

Nice washer. If I decide to get into milsurp or Marstar more often, I might just do that. I've already put a small fortune into a use-once-or-twice Beretta sight pusher. Meanwhile, brake cleaner and a bucket catcher will have to do.

I wouldn't use brake cleaner, it will take the blueing off too. There are many more gentle degreasers out there.

There is one a crappy tire called "Release All" it's great, one can will do an entire SKS and then some no problem. The can is black and green, w/ orange writing.
It's non toxic, bio-degradeabel yada yada yada.

P.S. I bought my SKS from Milarm about 5 yrs ago, threaded barrel shoots great. Only complaints: rear end-cap on hand guard was filed down to fit into the gas piston/rear sight assembly, so I can't remove it to refinish the wood etc... no biggy I just bought another gas tube from Districorp for 10$ to use with my synthetic stock.
The other ####ty thing was that the pin holding the firing pin in was split i.e. will never come out... so I have never disassembled the bolt... Again, minor issues since the rifle is so cheap and so much fun to shoot. I would buy another Norc SKS anyday.

Ya mean it has bluing? Ah! An added bonus. At $139! Hoo Hah!

I shall buy some Release All.

I suspect it will be a real laugh and a half. Plinking. Range. Probably whitetail in the woods if it arrives in time (the gun not the deer). My first and probably my last rifle.

If I had to clean up an SKS all over again, I'd invest in a tabletop parts washer from Princess Auto or Harbor Freight;

The solvent can be purchased from princess auto or cambodian tire, as well. The stuff that princess auto sells isn't quite as harsh as turpentine or varsol, so it won't burn your sensitive manicured hands :D

nice table top washer, is that a tap i see in the washer? if so , is it operated by a hand pump?

last question, how much?

Yep, most of the metal is blued, except for the gas piston/rear sight assembly. and the bolt of course.

Enjoy, I have about 3200 rds through her with 0, count em 0 stoppages :D

That particular one is from Harbor Freight, which is an american outlet. It retails for $39 US, but with shipping it'd probably end up costing you closer to $65 CAN. Princess Auto sells one that's almost identical to that (except for the color) for $65, and Princess Auto is a canadian outfit, so I'd probably get one from them.

The tap you see is the nozzle for the solvent, it's a little flex hose so you can bend it around to get at odd-shaped parts. The solvent is recirculated by an electric pump that sits underneath the deck, it's dead simple. The switch visible in the pic (on the right-hand side of the tank) turns the pump on and off.
