Walther will not have parts for the LGR, nor is it likely that any present, or former Canadian Importer will either. I am not aware of any repair manual for these guns either.

The original RT scopes were made by Nickels, and are quite pricey, generally going for around $1500 to $2000. The EAW mounts are likewise on the pricey side, at around $200.

Thank you leonardj. Was looking for some spare parts for just in case down the road troubles. I see one can source most parts in the U.S. Not sure why not many in Canada. Did find some new old stock internals also. Wow the scope is a bit pricey, but like anything of quality it costs. May have to source it from Germany. Was shooting the rifle today and used the center punch dots from my hole punch glued to cardboard as targets. This rifle just doesn't miss.
No manual is worrysome. Not sure I want to strip lube and clean this one. Thanks again for sharing all your knowledge:cheers:

FWIW there are air gun dealers in the country who still stock parts for the LGR and can get them from Walther Germany, this information that Walther "will not have parts for the LGR' is NOT correct. Wanted to clear this up for all LGR owners, took a while to verify the information, but its now verified.

I call BS on that one.
Do you care to share who these "air gun dealers in the country" are, and who exactly it was that you "verified" this information with at Walther Germany???

JG Airguns in the US has a limited supply of some parts

I know that North Silva did, at one time have some limited parts availability for these vintage Walther airguns, but the last time I inquired a couple years back, no longer available.

Cibles Canada has been referring all inquiries regarding repairs to these vintage Walther airguns to me for years, because they cannot obtain parts from Walther for these obsolete models.

I also have correspondence direct from Walther GMBH stating that they no longer carry replacement parts for these obsolete models - and specifically, the LGR.

This is the sole reason for my custom machining the necessary parts for these guns for the many dozens that I have repaired in recent years.

Leonardj, I am not going to challenge you on the boards. PM sent with helpful info.

Seems to me that you have already done that, by publicly contradicting me, with nothing at all to support your allegation.

The "helpful info" that you sent me via PM is really quite worthless, because when I contacted those same two sources, I was told that nothing was available. I also contacted Harv's previous employer, Illingworth Imports, and they likewise had zip.

I have been repairing these guns for several years now, and have worked on dozens of them, from right across Canada, and even a few sent to me from the US, so do you really think that I have not exhaustively searched for the appropriate parts, before having to resort to machining them myself???

And then you come along, and inside of a week, go from not even knowing what the gun you had was, to having "verified" parts availability for these guns, in such quantity as to be able to rebuild the gun several times over???:onCrack:

So one has to wonder why, with such a proliferation of easy to obtain parts, you decided to sell the gun, rather than keep it and shoot it?
That was a rhetorical question, so don't bother to answer it, because I really don't care.
I'm done with this. d:h:

Leonard,I do not want to step on your toes here,I just want to get Harvey at airgunsplus some business. He is a personal friend, and just a great guy to deal with.Just hung up the phone with him,and he says he has LGR seals in stock, and parts(I think he mentioned a piston) in the mail from Walther and he says they do have some parts, not all.

Padbirdman, thanks for the verification. Harv is a top notch guy and told me the same thing. Had no intention of turning this thread into hellon hooves. Yikes

Had other dealers tell the same story, there are a lot of parts around if one looks in the right places.

I had a very nice LGR with some unique features that I sold as it belonged in a collection rather than as a shooter and now kicking myself as I was told parts were not available, turns out they were. Oh well have it replaced all ready. Not a big fan of misinformation.

Thanks Glen.
Not stepping on my toes at all - appreciate your comments, and personally verifying an apparent new source for these parts.
Admittedly, it has been a while since I contacted Harvey about these parts, and at the time he had nothing. I was not aware that this had changed.
What I find a bit confusing is that he got the stuff from Walther, who also told me that they no longer supported these obsolete models. Apparently I got some bad info from the service rep that I corresponded with.

I am not a big fan of misinformation myself, and there is nothing wrong with introducing new info, but the manner in which the OP contradicted my info, was less than tactful.
