Who is Using a 28 Gauge, This 2025-26 Hunting Season

Weatherby SA 08 ,28G are a great gun had one for many years . Did you check to see if it was on the recall list? They had an issue with firing pin striking the primer when you closed the action.

Good to get that fact out there again about the recall notice.Until you had posted about it,I had forgotten about it.:(

Well out late this afternoon for a short and I mean short 28 gauge rabbit hunt. That is some snow in the woods. Most from the knee to half way to the hip.Did not go far and soon returned to the truck.

Keeping on the 28g theme does anyone know if the Franchi LX 28 g is on a scaled down 20g or is it in fact 20g frame with 28g barrels? They claim a pound difference.

On its way guess we will see if it is as claimed .Was looking for a SXS in 28 but could not find one that would work for me. Missed on a Beretta SP 1 so this got me to here,,,,

Yes ,I too prefer a SXS 28 gauge over an O/U,but that's just myself. There are many who prefer it the other way around.:)

It seems to be a pretty gun, with the inlays and all. Here is a review I found on line.Perhaps you have already seen it.Just in case not,I will post a link here.

Well tomorrow is the last day of the rabbit (snowshoe hare) season. The last season for myself. No hunting until next fall after that. Will try to get out tomorrow for a while, even if the snow is still too deep. Not sure what 28 gauge gun I will take out for the last hunt, but thinking the old Winchester Model 370 single shot.:)

Any one else getting close to their last day of 28 gauge hunting, until next fall?
