Don't the Marines stil use a bolt action rifle for thier snipers?
Frankly, a hunter has alot more in common with a sniper than a regular infantry soldier!

I thougth that was weird when you told me about it.
Why dont' these hunters sight in thier own rifles? YOu can't perfectly zero a rifle for yourself using someone elses body/shooting technique etc. Although I am sure it DOES get the job done..
I would think that a hunter woud at least want to practice a bit before heading afield. :roll:
On the other hand, it was refreshign to check out your gun store...Well stocked with guns and accesorries and gear etc- Most importantly- the staff and owner seem to actually KNOW somethign about guns, bullets, hunting, ammo etc..
Too often I have been in gun stores and heard a customer say " I missed a buck at 250 yards" only to have the salesman say, "well, you need a bigger scope than that 3-9x40 you got there... :roll:

I've seen the Browning Jam too.
I was impressed with the handling characteristics of the Remington Jam-O-Matic, but that's where it ended.

If you reload, using a small base die might help sometimes to prevent jamming. Also if the weather is really cold and your rifle is too don't try putting some warm cartridges from your pocket or the cabin into it. They may fit pretty tightly! (Even with a lever action I learned this. My 99 cold out of the 20 below car trunk wouldn't chamber my warm out of the cabin handloads.)
