My primary hunting rifle is a mid '50's Remington 760 gamemaster chambered in .35rem. This gun has never failed me yet. The big dream would be to collect some more calibers in this particular model. Plus the weird looks I get here in BC when people get a look at a pump action rifle is pretty cool too.

Any other fans of the ol' 760 or it's later variants?

The 760 is my "go to" rifle for hunting made in the late 50's. Had a carbine length barrel in 30-06 put on it. Amazing shooter and one I that will never sell.

I'm a fan of the 760/7600's as well. Couldn't tell you the number of them that I've bought/traded and sold. A 760 in .308 was my only rifle for quite a few years and I shot quite a few deer with it as well as 1 moose. Currently down to 1 7600 in .35 Whelen but will likely pick up another 760 or 7600 in .308 when the mood strikes me.

35 Whelen, 35 Rem, .308, .270, .308 Model 6 and 257 Roberts, but I grew up on the 14's and 141's.

Although I'm a huge fan of the 870 I just haven't ever been able to find any affection for the 760's/7600's. I don't dispute for a minute that they function and shoot well I just can't get past the way they feel in my hands. I grew up in Nova Scotia where they were certainly popular at the time.

The 760s are my favorite as well as some 7600s, model14s, 14 1/2, model 25s and even a sportsman 76. I have around 30 Remington pumps and enjoy shooting each and every one of them. Have been hunting with them for over 30 years and have no regrets at all. Very dependable and very accurate.
In the 760s, my favorite caliber(s) is a toss up between the 270 and the 280 (like splitting hairs). Dammit, 257 Roberts also a huge favorite. Like them all!!!!

I had always wanted one until my brother-in-law bought one and the LOP was wayyyyy too far for me.

I had a Savage 170 pump that I loved to death (first rifle I ever owned), but it jammed so I got rid of it. I'd definitely be interested in a 760 if I could find one that didn't have a forearm hanging 18 inches in front of the receiver (it feels like).

My first deer rifle was a 1974 Model 760 GameMaster in .270Win, dad bought it for me when I was 13. It has filled my tags every year except for 1, that year I learned that a .300WM is too damn big for whitetail. from now on, that .270 is my whitetail/Muley gun, and my .300 is for Elk and Moose.

My fav rifle. I have started to get a few myself. Like yourself I hunt with my .35 Rem primarily, put a bushnel ar red dot on it :). And just love it. But iv gotten a few more over the years. .244, .270,.280, 30-06, .300 sav, 2 x .35 rem, and a .257 I think. All between 52-61 But a great gun and have never gave me any problems.

My first Moose gun was my Grandpa's old Rem Gamemaster in 270win, it was so old it wasn't even D&T'd !!!
I shot it very well as a teenager, but never baged a moose with it. A heavy gun when you only weighed 110lbs!
Gramps shot alot of deer after working at the papermill on the nearby hydro lines, to keep my mom and siblings fed for the winter.
A lot of steel, a little bit of wood, and just a good old work gun!

My 76 sportsman is pretty...pretty ugly. She's a shooter though, but no critters have walked out in front of it yet. If money were no object, I'd pick up 760's in 6 mm, 35 rem, 300 savage and build a spare barrel in 338 federal for the 76.

I saw a model 14 on sale for about $300 and it needs a lot of love, question is how much would repair/parts cost? 35 Rem version btw, if that makes a difference?

I'm a fan for sure. Have owned several of them over the years. I'm a left handed shooter and that was my original attraction to them......way back in the 60's.

This is what got me started on the 760s. I shoot both left and right handed. Perfect fit.....

I had a decent 141 in 30 rem and I was amazed at the smoothness of the action.
Curious to know what one would use for ammo or brass to make this round?

Sorry .............. High Jack.................
