I got a box of 100 of these off a buddy in a plain box.

175 grain round nose 7mm bullet.

Doesn't look like a Hornady.

Any idea what manufacturer made them?

Just a guess without more info, and the trolls hate it when someone other then the in crowd chip in, but here goes:
judging by the cannellure (sp?) I'd guess it could be made by C.I.L. a long time ago. I had some Norma's that look like that as well
but he colo of he jacket is different.

I'm going to load some up and try 'em in my little Husqvarna 7x57 one day.

Why Not who is a member here suggested I try some 175 grain round nose bullets in the rifle.

Kind of hard to find. I was looking for Hornady bullets but they're scarce and out of manufacture.

I haunted every table at the last big gun show in the 'wack and never found any but chatted with my hunting buddy when we met up there and he said "Oh- I think I've got some of those."

Thanks. I have some Normas too, but not enough to load up, try out and have any left for hunting. My Norma 175 grain bullets have no cannelure though.

Talking about C.I.L., at the last gun show I was at a friend was selling some vintage Dominion 270 cartridges loaded with 160 grain bullets. You don't see that much these days. I'm eager to try 'em out.

I have some Dominion 7x57, headstamp "7mm Dominion" and they have more lead exposed. Of course that doesn't mean they never changed, but those don't match what I have.

C.I.L. or Norma, they are both good bullets. My Normas were more of a brassy gold color, not the usual copper color. But that could vary from batch to batch I guess.

Bought a lot of these from company that is now Higginson about 30 years ago. They were selling bulk Norma and IIRC Lapua at the time so that it what it probably is.
CIL used a knurled cannlure so not CIL.

I bought a bunch of 8mm bullets back in the 70's that looked similar. They came in plain plastic bags. The jackets are a copper washed steel or ???

I was told they were Sako.

They were accurate, used them for practice. Never hunted with them. They were 200 gr and even worked in the 8mm Rem Mag.

I have some Sako 7mm RN bullets; the cannelure is different. The Norma 175 grainers I have don't have a cannelure at all. CIL/Dominion bullets have a different cannelure as well.
