Who makes 1" QD rings?

By far, the best bang for your buck are the plain vanilla Weaver saddle type rings in regular Weaver bases. They return to zero as well as most, and better than some that are touted up as being top shelf.

On several occasions at the range I have shot groups while removing and replacing the scope between shots. Much to the amazement of those interested in watching, the group size changes very little from groups shot leaving the scope on the rifle. What is most impressive is the point of impact change is virtually zero.

The way to achieve this is to make sure the rings are in firm contact with the front of the slot in each of the bases before tightening the thumbscrew. Then tighten the screws in the rings. When you remove and replace the scope, be sure to have the scope rings firmly in contact with the front of the bases again before you tighten the thumbscrews.

I used to mount them with the front ring tight against the front of the slot in the front base, and the rear ring tight against the rear of slot in the rear base. This meant that the scope had to go onto the bases in exactly the same position every time, and that worked. The only drawback to this method is that the front ring and base are subjected to all the recoil, while the rear gets none. Never had a problem, but always wondered if on heavy recoiling rifles it might make a difference, so tried both rings tight against the front of both bases and have never had a problem.

Give it a try, and let us know your experience.

The other nice thing is, they are several ounces lighter than other QD mounting systems. I have always used them on my mountain rifles.

Any other suggestions on 1" QD rings? I've got a bit more budget and am looking for something that fits the look of a black/tactical rifle rig.

Suggestions of which sponsor carries them are appreciated too.

the most reapeatable ones are made in germay by e.a.w there is a outfit out of the states that has quality knock offs ( my 378 wetherby has them with no prob so far so they are a good knock off) but its only for common rifles weatherby, m700,m70 ,m98 ect pm me for info as they are not a site sponsor.
