Recently got my restricted and i'm looking into getting a .22 semi-auto, any recommendations? Went to a few stores and looked at what they had, i really liked the feel of the sig mosquito and have only heard one person say good things about it, everybody else on the internet seems to hate it. The ruger mark 3 felt good but it doesn't have that cool factor other guns have, i liked the .22 kimber makes but i don't have the cash for that.

Just hoping somebody could point me in a good direction, lol i'm sure there's a million and nine of these threads around but i couldn't find one

the sig 229 is an awsome 22 semi trigger pull is so crisp

that and ive heard good things about the GSG 1911 .22 semi

oh and the ruger mark III has amazing accuracy and ZERO recoil. my hand didn't move after everyshot lol

Was just in the same boat as you . Bought a Sig Mosquito despite the bad press . Have had extremely few feeding issues after about 1000 rounds but the accuracy was terrible until I just tried Remington Vipers . I also just bought a S&W 22A that eats any ammo and is extremely accurate with all .

S&W or Ruger,, different but both very very good. You will be well servrd with either!!!!!!!!!!!

X2. I bought one in the summer and have about 1300 rounds through it, with NO failures to load and very few failures to eject. I like it a lot. It is quite accurate, I agree. Also look a the Beretta NEOS. Some people love the look of it, some hate it. My wife has one and really likes it.

I also have a S&W 22A, with a Bushnell TRS25 red dot on it, it's a tack driver. It likes all ammo except the cheapy Winchester '333' bulk. Other than that it's good value for your $.

If you like the looks of the Colt 1911 then consider a GSG 1911 at $379.00 from Blueline and others, lots of good reviews on that one. I have a Browning Buckmark Camper which looks more like a Luger which works very well but has been described by some as a "space gun". I really like the looks of the Buckmark and it will empty a mag as fast as you can pull the trigger with few issues using bulk Blazer ammo.
Just for fun I am working on a "tactical' Colt 1851.:D

I just picked up a neos and my wife has deemed it to be "her gun". Its easy to clean up, just avoid the sharp bits and shoots beautifully with federal 555 bulk pack ammo.

If you want to learn to shoot a handgun, and want something that will see you through a lot of use, you cannot go wrong with the Ruger Mark 3. With its adjustable sights, once you start to shoot better you will be able to dial it in to centre your groups.
Good reliability with the Ruger.
Do you want cool, or a good handgun - your choice.

Probably outside of your price range, but the S&W Model 41 is the most accurate .22 pistol I've ever shot and it's high on my list of future toys to buy.

Ruger and Browning probably make the most gun for the money in their price ranges. They are widely recommended for a reason. If you can find one, the Russian Margolin is another option.

Stay away from the SIG Mosquito, Walther P22, and Chiappa 1911 lookalike. If you have your heart set on a .22 that looks like a centrefire, spend a little more and get a CZ Kadet or the .22 version of the SIG P226.

If you are willing to consider a revolver, the older S&W Model 17/K-22s are nice.

HIGH STANDARD is probably one of the best. Not the new ones from Texas. I had a VICTOR that grouped 5 shots of CCI Standard into 3/8" off a rest at 25 yards. The 10X is even better. They appear on the EE from time to time. Not my pistol, just a nice example.

Grab one, you won't be disappointed. Oh yeah, the SIG is a hoot to shootw:h:
