who makes "the best" bolt action 375 H&H?

You are asking in the wrong place.Really, here in Canada almost everything except for some coastal grizzly or polar bears,can easly be handled by a 303.The place to ask is the Africa forums,and not what the clients use,rather the PHs.
I've got a Mdl 70 action that I was going ot get chambered in 35H&H or something...
Might wait for those new Ruger 375 Rugers now. Slap a Macmillan or similar stock on it, make sure it feed right etc...
Maybe get on of those aperature sights that attach to the Ruger integral scope mounts. That woudl be slick...

The single most used make by African PHs is the CZ or Brno. If its in a caliber that their clients can donate ammo for, so much the better. Most would rather have a new truck than a new rifle, but there are plenty of exceptions of course.
In many cases the caliber they use is not what they would recomend for clients. Theres a bit of difference between shooting an animal at hunting distances, and clobbering one at powder-burn distances.

Most of those guys (AMERICANS) on the African forums build up rifles for bragging rights... then suck each other off over "Model 70 three position safetys" and the like. They also like to recomend the top end stuff even if serves no practical purpose for the Canadian hunter. Some of those guys actauly have very little HUNTING experince as the guide does all the hunting, I would discribe most of them as being CUSTOMERS more so than hunters. Threre are some that are true hunters of couse but it ALWAYS seems the EQUIPEMENT is more important than real HUNTING KNOWLAGE and for good reason, the only part of the hunt thier respnsible for is bringing the rifle and shooting. I just cannot respect that.
Get advice from people that live and hunt here. Learning about DGR's is neat and interesting on the African forums but means little to the guy crotch deep in snow, standing on a frozen muskeg.

.. that is probably true.
In fact 257 Roberts through 30/06 (or more anemic ... but a little larger - .303)...pick one you like and it will handle most of what we can hunt in N. America ... probably more big white bears have been wacked by a .303 than any other calibre....in fact probably more elephants have been wacked by the same cartridge fwiw.
But you don't need to (or have to) go to Africa to enjoy using a 375H&H. The .375 H&H can be loaded up, down, and sideways and provides terrific accuracy ... you can bring down a small whitetail or a large Alaska moose and not feel overgunned or undergunned....at least I don't. It is a great round and fun to shoot... as all cartridges can be!
Everyone should have a rifle to shoot this great cartridge... as well as the 270...and the 308... and the 35 Whelen....and the 348W...and 243W ...etc etc...heck ... all cartridges have some redeeming qualities don't they?
I prefer my BRNO ZKK 602 .375 H&H because of its Mauser CRF action, superior express sights and 6 round magazine capacity.
IMHO these express sights are far superior to the OEM iron sights on Winchesters and Rugers.
