kept looking and no real success in finding what I'm looking for.

I need a pair of rings with 18mm height - that is from the base to the bottom of ring.
It must be Weaver or Picatinny compatible. My base is a Farrell.
is it possible to find something with plastic inserts?

Looked @ Burris. It seems that their high is way too low for me.

Any suggestions?

Sorry, not really.
The rings themselves are designed to "hold" the insert in place, plus they are larger in diameter.the inserts are shaped and ...so on. No chance for the home hoby-ist to replicate at home.

Once you've held one, you'll know.
Thanks for the idea though.

Brownells sells plastic inserts to convert 30mm rings to one inch. What you wind up with is effectively 1 inch rings that grip very securely and don't leave any marks on the scope tube.

nice to know that,thanks guninhand.
Would Brownells ship to canada?
any shop in canada carry Brownells product?

Brownells ships to Canada, but there is a $100 limit on gun parts, plus the usual restrictions on barrels, shotgun parts, etc. I get the part numbers written down then order by phone.
