Who makes the shortest 30-30?

It looks like Marlin used to offer 16" offerings in the 336C and 336 Dark Series. I think I'll wait and see what Ruger/Marlin Brings to the table.

My Dlask 8.5 shorty is stamped DLASK ARMS CORP 8.5 2-3/4 .3.

They’re about the only ones that stamp the barrel. I believe they stamp them so that there is no question as to manufactured length due to our laws.

You would not be able to tell the difference from a 20” Winchester that was cut down vs a factory 16” Trapper/Wrangler as long as the muzzle was finished properly since there are no barrel markings that would distinguish them.

I picked up a .30-30 16” barrel for a Win 94 at a gun show years ago but the Trapper barrels made at that time (90s?) were the thicker contour of the Big Bore rifles so I’d need new barrel bands to install it.
