Its nice to have Bruce Thom (owner of Bat Machine Co.) there to know where the safe (for this test) overload pressure is as well. Over 100,000 psi, wow!
Funny thing, for all the talking they ended up at exactly the same charge and pretty much the same speed as I get with the 210 gr Berger VLD. Mine are in Lapua brass with large primers, and I’ve been using the same brass for 4 years and haven’t a single one to a primer pocket yet.
There’s a ####load of people who load mid 40s of Varget and heavy bullets, nobody is breaking any new ground on this one.
Wasn't that long ago there was a "craze" of people loading 208 Hornadys to 2600+ in 308s. Tried it myself and all went well, so, people just have to push things once in a while to keep it interesting.

I'm pushing a 290 gr bullet in a 450 bushmaster at over 2300 fps, so yea there is some pressure in that chamber. It is a ruger #1, so I know I can push things a bit over book maximums.
Heck I'm pushing 2930fps with a 139 gr tip in my 6.5 creed, with a 26" barrel. This one is crisp on the edge.
