Do any dealers offer a complete service/customizing of the CZ 858 including exterior coating, chrome lining the barrel, and tabbing the bolt(or ensuring that it doesn't need tabbing before shipping to customer)? Looking for one stop shopping here. I love this gun and would like to buy one, but I want ALL of these issues dealt with BEFORE I buy as I CAN'T STAND buying a gun then having to ship it off to have deficiencies dealt with. Thanks.

What issues? Your blowing things out of proportion. btw no one does "chrome lining the barrel".

Dude, there are no issues with the 858. Shoot it, clean it. The paint is tougher than anything, albeit ugly as sin. The "Gremlin" is a rarity on newer models (I have a Tactical 2 that has a few hundred rounds dumped through it, no problems yet) and while I wish the barrel was lined, I'm not afraid to leave it for a couple days before I clean it.

First off...do some research, I remember a thread on here about a company offering to chrome line the barrels, but they didn't offer the other services I'm looking for. And there are issues, I've owned an 858 before but I sold it because the "tough as nails paint" that someone recently posted about had a chip in it. Also, I want to be able to shoot the rifle and not have to panic about cleaning it as I'm very busy and may not get to it for a few days maybe longer sometimes. Also, if I got a rifle with the gremlin, it WOULD piss me off. I hate having to ship parts to get repaired. I wasn't looking to get into a debate, but for some reason all the replys have been about defending the rifle?????? Why? I asked a simple question, if you do not know the answer, don't reply. The question is...is there a company out there offering to chrome line the barrel, tab the bolt, and deal with the exterior surface? Thanks.

A barrel must be chrome lined from the manufacturer. No one ever offered this service after the fact, because it can not be done.

I think hes thinking of the Rauch salt bath nitrite treatment ? hes not doing this anymore i heard ... To OP if you want a rifle to shoot surplus ammo through and never clean or worry about go buy a cheap chrome bore chinese SKS .

You sold an 858 because the paint had a f**king chip in it? This gun is probably not for you then. I regularly cook the paint off the barrel on mine. This is a military rifle not an expensive side by side dove gun. The gun wont rust right away after shooting it with the corrosive ammo unless you live in a humid climate. I've left mine for over two weeks after shooting and had no ill effects. Water, WD-40, a boresnake and a quick wipedown is more than sufficient. Or just shoot it enough that you never have to worry about corrosion.

Talk to Neit or Broncoo about tabbing the bolt. Ive personally never seen the gremlin in mine or my friends 858's, I think its rather over dramatized. Rauch did what I believe was a nitrocarburizing or tenifer coating process. They dont offer it anymore AFAIK. Armacoat does a ceramic coating that is supposedly pretty tough, give them a call. Or just Krylon the s**t out of it.

The gun runs fine without tabbing, a chrome lined bbl, and with the factory finish. If the gremlin pops up, then get it tabbed. If not, just go and shoot.

I am also an 858 owner, and can say that it is an awesome shooter and reliable as long as i have owned it. It seems to function really well clean, or dirty as a crate of surplus just went through it. I have even heated it up immensely a couple of times when playing around, and still very accurate (within reason, as far as a semi auto can be expected to be) afterward. I wouldn't mind seeing more parts kits and such available, as well as magazine selection, but all in all its great fun!

I also remember a thread about a company that did the chrome lining, about 6 months ago. Some searching would probably bring it up.

But to answer OP's question, no company does all the things you ask for. And the gremlin is a rare thing. If you don't have the time to really clean the gun just run some hot water through the barrel and clean it later. If you don't have time for that just spray some Windex in the barrel and clean it later.

Incorrect. Many people referred to the process as "chrome-lining" but it absolutely was not.

As has been already mentioned, it was a nitrocarburizing process like the finish on Glock slides, but done inside and out on the rifles.

There were some 858's brought in by Marstar that had chrome lined barrels you could track one of them down used and go from there....

The question is...is there a company out there offering to chrome line the barrel, tab the bolt, and deal with the exterior surface? Thanks.

The simple answer to your question is no.

Yes as others have said the nitro process that Rauch did was not chrome lining and is no longer available. I just had one from him and sold it to fund an AR, but it was a nice finish. If you post a WTB on the EE, you might get lucky if you really want one.

About service. All I can tell you is that Neit Arms has unparalleled service and I would recommend them for any gun needs. They worked on my CZ and were amazing. They set the bar high.

I had mine customized here, http://www.omegacustomguns.com This shop is vary high end. Gave me a custom muzzle break, trigger job, and machined all the NEA parts I bought to fit the Gun. Again, you'll have to send it there and find the stuff you want to put on it first, but I really don't think your going to have much of a choice. I never heard of a place doing all the stuff you want up front.

YEP! I sold the gun because it had a chip in the paint...It's my PERSONAL opinion that I like MY guns to look good as WELL as function good...is that a problem for you?????? I like the overall gun, but I don't like the paint job, it looks like CRAP in MY opinion. And, yes there was a company doing something to the barrel(maybe not chrome lining, but something to protect it from rust) and I believe it was Rauch Tactical? So no, this won't be the gun for me again, unless I can get all the services done that I stated and I'm willing to pay for that...Is that OKAY with you? Thanks for your input.
