The first site is located in Texas, so that in itself lends an air of geographic gun-related legitimacy to it. Boyds is on holidays until July 11 so that might explain any difficulty getting through to them. When I ordered a stock last week, their website rerouted me to the "I forgot my password" page, but nevertheless I did get logged in as before and made my order.

Boyds customer service has turned to non existent since their plant expansion/revamping or whatever they have going on, earlier in the spring I ordered a stock with mystic and got it in the regular time frame Jerry figured around a month ordering as his month end closed.

Then right after I needed another one but wanted it a bit faster then waiting on mystics monthly order to be put in so ordered direct as I have in the past no problem, well that order was placed with boyds on May 16th and still just shows processing, called them nobody answers the phone, leave a message and get no call back. Got a direct email from someone for a CS person and actually got a response but was basically they had no idea when my order would be filled, just got the "maybe" couple weeks "maybe" couple days answer, both have come and gone.

If you do a search there are several reports on other forums and even consumer complaint sites of this from several people waiting several weeks and no stock plus nobody answering emails or phone calls. I will also add that the finish on my last stock was sad compared to the two others I bought a few years ago, has a big run in the finish on one side and several other very small finish blemishes in other spots.

That's too bad.

Hope they get back on track.

Me too, it's going on 8 weeks now and nothing, so even if they were to complete it early next week and ship, could be several weeks best case before it gets to me with the potential postal strike, and like I said that's "best" case, I have a feeling the time line will be expressed in monthly increments by the time I get it yet!

Use a courier - UPS, FedEx, etc.....

Then you get hammered with brokerage tax and duty, most of these places only use UPS or USPS and I hate UPS with a passion, been screwed many a time by them, (actually have a missing package with them right now that they don't know why it hasn't been delivered) with Canada post it's like a scratch and win with the tax sometimes you win sometimes you lose, Boyds already charge $61 USD for USPS, so I can only imagine what they would charge for UPS.

Guess we will see when the time comes, need a finished stock before I have to worry about shipping it lol.

There's an entire thread about how to avoid that....

Call Barry at Percy Davis. He'll get it across the border for you for a reasonable charge.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind, I know I've had best luck with fed ex, have ordered lots of stuff from summit and other speed shops over the years for my drag truck when I couldn't get it up here in a timely manner and they were always the cheapest all in but run into some UPS only vendors and would pass if I could find it elsewhere. When I got my IFS front end from a custom shop and had to use them I was ready to slice my wrists time it was said and done with 4 shipments and no local depot always subbed out.

Anyway sorry for the thread hijack. Did I mention I hate UPS? LOL!

I was chatting with a nice old timer at the range two weeks ago and complimented him on his rifle, which from a 10 yard distance appeared to be a Savage Mark II BRJ. It turned out not to be a BRJ but a heavy barreled Mark II in a BRJ stock. He said he got the stock directly from Savage in Lakefield. He also told me what he paid and though I forget now the exact amount he noted I do recall thinking that it was very reasonably priced. I'm sufficiently stocked with Savage stocks, so I didn't press further. Nice older gentleman.

You don't think he could have been putting me on now....
