Hi everyone

Who own or try S&W M&P 45? (not the 9mm) I'm more & more interested to get one but I would like to know your impression & comment on it. Especially on durability & strenght (+P+ ????)

Thanks

I love it

Hey there. I bought one about 3 months ago and I love it. I've only put a couple thousand rounds through it, but I have had no problems whatsoever. My G17 was my favourite pistol, but the M&P is quickly taking over. My wife just got her PALs and even she has tried it. Other than the big bang from the caliber, she likes the way it feels and did quite well for an noob. The only thing that surprised me about it, which doesn't bug me much, is how it ejects cases with authority. I usually warn the people to my right before I start, which they laugh at until it starts spitting them out at them. LOL.
I haven't heard any complaints about the .45, but it seems some people are having problems with other caliber M&Ps.

Lots of people don't like being on the right side of a 45 shooter, it's a combination of the energy of the slide and the size of the brass. I've seen guys move when a 1911 came out of a case. One of the joys of a "real" calibre :D

Very nice pistol. My favourite now while my Glock 21 and 1911 Springfield rest peacefully in the gun safe.

I have one. Absolutely love it. Only have about 500 rounds through mine so far.
Don't know about the ejecting with authority thing. Mine kicks 'em out about 3-4' to the right and a couple feet back. The odd one goes straight up and nails me on the head  . If that's "with authority", then you definitely don't wanna be around when my AR-9 or my Norc 1911 cycle. Now those really chuck brass.

(E)

I don't know about your M&P Echo, but mine kicks the empties 8-9' out and 3-4' back. Nobody wants to shoot next to me, which doesn't bother me at all. That's why I used the authority comment. My G17 tosses them 5' out and a couple feet back, but I like the space it all gives me. I am very respectful to others on the line, so I wait until probationary shooters and .22 competitive target guys are done before I bring mine out.
At any rate caporal, go out and get one and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Very happy with my purchase! Just over a thousand rounds, mostly reloads with no failures. only one problem... I just can't stop fondling it! :)

I am seriously considering one of these to replace my P220... If / when I kill the P220.... I realize I may have some time to wait....

:)

But, no, the M&P really does seem to do everything I like in the tupperware category, and the ability to fit a grip that is NEARLY big enough is such a bonus over that hockey stick frame of the "grock". I really, really hope that the M&Ps turn out to be reliable over time for those of y'all that have them. I have test driven my buddy's in .40, and it was the nicest .40 I've ever fired. I can only imagine how nice the .45 must feel!
