I am in the market for a long range scope and have been thinking of the 4200 or 6500. Is there that much of difference between the two?
I'm thinking of buying one of these scopes although at one time I swore I would never buy a Bushnell product again. It would be going on a varmint rifle that I also shoot paper with so I would like the high magnification.
30mm vs 1" tube everything else is about the same but I could be wrong looking through my 2.5-10x40mm 4200 and my 4.5-30x50mm 6500 there is a big difference in sight picture and field of view.....haven't looked through the higher power 4200's so I can't really compare but my 4200 on 10x vs my 6500 on 10x the 6500 is hands down the winner.
I had the opposite results, the Leupold had an awful brown tint, and eye relief that required a more effort than I was willing to give.
There is no Leupold that offers the same options as the 6500 series.
Besides, since when did the "I have a friend who (cousin, buddy, aunt, guy at work).." story ever hold water?
What series of Leupold were you looking through?
