Anyone know who produces the 700 VLS stock? Is there someone who sells them other than Remington?
I've searched quite a bit and haven't found anything useful. Boyd's makes thumb hole stocks and a tacticool that they don't ship to Canada for some reason. I haven't seen a VLS stock for sale though.

I have an SPS varmint I'd eventually like to restock with a 700 VLS stock

Thanks. I meant they don't ship the tacticool.

I'm trying to find the OEM 700 VLS stock. I think Boyd's makes stocks for Savage but who makes them for Remington? Boyd's prices seem very reasonable but Remington's price on there website is twice the price of Boyd's. The equipment exchange has HS Precision stocks on a regular basis but I've only seen the VLS stock come up once

It's just a laminated stock for an M700(your SPS is an entry level M700). Nothing 'tactical' about it. Boyd's sells 'em by the action length and mag style. Add the W's.

Boyd's isn't the only game either. Don't know if Richard's Microfit exports or not. Lot of U.S. companies just couldn't be bothered due to the expense of the licence.
AR-15 parts are on the U.S. governments restricted for export list. There's really no reason a "tacticool" can't be exported as it's a rimfire stock. Unless Boyd's actually doesn't make it and the maker doesn't have the Commerce Dept.'s exporter's licence.

Thanks for the response

I checked the Boyd's search function and the only two models that come up are the tacticool and the varmint thumb hole. They have listed on their site that the tacticool is not exportable. I'm not sure what you mean by add the W's?

Just to be clear I have a right hand, short action, hinged floor plate, bull barrel 700. I'm looking for the stock that comes with the 700 VLS

It looks similar to the Boyd's Prairie Hunter but the Prairie hunter is only available in sporter barrel profiles. Also the front end on the prairie hunter looks narrower. Remington's price is significantly more expensive, so I was just wondering who actually made the stock and if it could be had directly to skip Remington's markup.

Thanks
