Who says tang safety M77's can't shoot?

I believe they do. Unless I don't have the optimum handload recipe, it appears my groups are tighter with a simple pressure point. I just opted for a hard rubber washer normally used for vibration isolation in automotive applications. It's just held in place by the tension of the barrel against the stock (90 inch lbs on the front action screw!) and can be easily removed if I wanted to. These rifles sometimes need a bit of fiddling to shoot, but will reward you once you get them optimized.

If the receiver is properly bedded, I have seen no advantage to a pressure point. This applies to most bolt action rifles.
