Hello. I have searched and not found. Who sells 13.7 inch AR15 barrels in Canada? I prefer .223 Wylde or match barrels. Which model do you recommend? Thanks.

There are only 3 companies i think that produced 13.7. Noveske being one, ballistic advantage and Rosco being the other.

Noveske is gonna run you anywhere between 600 to 800$.

Rosco, i dont rhink they send their stuff to this side of the boarder.

Best to email saskatoon gun works and special order one in from BA

Pretty sure I saw a video on Youtoob recommending 13.7 as the ultimate "be-all, do-all" length - I'm also pretty sure it isn't, but there you go, another flavour of the week AR part.

Lucas Botkin aka Trex Arms runs a 13.7 so he can have a welded flash hider to bring it up to 16", avoiding all the SBR BS in USA.

What do you your AR for ? Go for a 12" or 14.5" and you'll be good from 0 to 350m

Lol yep, people arguing semantics is more like it.
“13.7 is soo much better than 14.5 because .8 inches makes a YYUUUUGE difference in ballistics, maneuverability, likeability and YouTube credibility”.

What does one stand to gain by shaving off .8 inches?

It’s actually funny because a friend of mine messaged me a week or two ago about Garand Thumbs newest video about 13.7’s being the end all be all, joking “how soon until we start seeing the pumpkin spice rifle crowd jumping on this band wagon”.

i don't know about shaving off .8 of an inch, but if i woke up with an extra .8" id be strutting all day

Why that specific length? I don't think I've ever seen it as a standard item.

You could always get a longer barrel cut...

I want a shorter barrel to swing the rifle faster at targets and to lower the weight. I already have a 13” hand guard so I do not want to buy a shorter hand guard for a 12.5” or 11” barrel. The muzzle velocity at 13.7” will be good for my needs. Lastly, I want a mid-length gas system. Thanks for the responses.

The 13.7" thing is just because of the USA NFA pinned flash hider thing. We here is Canada have better options...for now anyway. Colt Canada IMHO has the best SBR gas system configuration. If you want sub 14.5" get a Colt Canada and be done with it, no need for a mid gas system with a Colt Canada they have the carbine gas system figured out.

Nah the 14.5 carbine is the work of yesteryear. Hence socoms new urgi upoers using midlength for their 14.5

And since ars are restricted regardless in canada i too say go with a midlength 14.5. The 13.7 is for their sbr laws. And the juice aint worth the squeeze. You can get excellent barrels for a fraction of the price of that noveske.

for those who dont travel and transport to the usa and dont know much about usa gun laws, some states require a 16" length barrel as a minimum requirement on a rifle by the atf (unless other accessories attached make the rifle a different status which requires other stamps which is another story)

16" barrels are legal in most states, 13.7" is illegal in some states, 16.1" barrels is safest bet

so why the 13.7"?
so its very common that people have a flash hider pinned and welded onto their barrel so that the barrel is permanently fixed to 16"+, instead of having a 16" with a flash hider/muzzle brake which would make the length close to 18" in some setups.

hence the urgi
