who sells norinco jw15a compact .22 ? Any comments on this gun?

Don't know who sells them, but lots of members here own one. I think they're great rifles for the money, and super compact/handy. Sights are basically useless without some modifications...but my plan was to use a scope anyway. The magazines are garbage too...so I bought CZ 5-rd. steel ones. So yes...some limitations, but once you get that sorted-out...I think it's a cool rifle. Still a Norinco...so a little rough... :)

Puma, I don't know who sells them. If you find a dealer with some, please post as I would like to buy an other one. I own one. Great little rifle. Bolt is a little rough, but works fine. The magazine would not feed reliably at all when I got it. A little tweaking on the follower and now it's worked flawlessly for over 1000 rounds! The sights are pretty bad (at least on mine) but if you open up the rear sight to 3/64ths it is just great! Those two mods and the removal of the cheap "sling loops" (replaced with uncle mikes studs) is all that's needed in my opinion. So, if you find one, enjoy!! And please advise where you found it too. Good shooting, Toni.

I seen one recently (maybe 6 weeks ago) in a store called ProNature in Alma, Quebec. They were asking 170$. The thing that surprised me was how heavy it felt for such a small rifle.

The Stevens is another option, but it has flaws too. I found the sights a bit better, but the trigger was terrible. There is ways of making it better though too. The thing that really bothered me the most was the mag release. When walking or riding through the thick stuff the release would dig into my back. Other times it would turn sideways in the mag well and jam so bad that pliers were needed to reposition it so a mag could be inserted. After I lost some small game from that, I sold it and kept the norinco. They are comparable for accuracy too. My local shop ordered it from bell distributors ( in Ontario IIRC) and it was about 180 I think.

I love the idea of the gun but it being a norinco kind of throws me off a bit. Are these just novelties or are they capable of decent accuracy with a scope on top.

I put 225 rounds through my JW15A late yesterday afternoon. Good fun! Doesn't help you find one....but confirmed that I may never sell mine. They're worth tracking down.

Anybody still looking for one of these? I just got mine today from North Pro Sports. Got it with taxes and shipping to my door for LESS than some other dealers are asking for the rifle alone!! Now to clean off all the packing grease! Good shooting everybody, Toni.
