Who sells SHILOH SHARPS in western Canada?

I'm hopping to only do this purchase once!! So any insight would be helpful.
These are some of the brands I took a look at so far.
UBERTI BUFFALO HUNTER SHARPS — 32"
PEDERSOLI 1874 Sharps Competition - 34"
C SHARPS model 1874 BRIDGEPORT SPORTING RIFLE 30"
SHILOH SHARPs 1874 SPORTER #3 32"

This would be set up for 500 - 1000 yard plinking at full size buffalo targets. Preferences? Likes / dislikes?
This falls in the catagory buy once, hurt once.

As the owner of five Shiloh products, I'd say go with the Shiloh. But, I've also owned a C.Sharps '75 that shot phenomenally. They also make a great '74 and their rifles come stamped [Old Reliable], for what it's worth. You'd have to have that engraved on a Shiloh unless you buy a Farmingdale-made product. I've got a mix of both.
 
My Pedersoli Long Range 34" has sights capable of 500 yd but 1000yd is another world: think another $500 + for higher quality long range sights. I would have preferred a 45-70 for recoil and powder consumption but my 45-90 will hold 1.5 moa with good BP loads. It weighs 13 lb and I want every oz of that weight. After 2 years and upwards of 1000 shots I like the sett triggers, smoothness, fit and finish so not likely to go the extra cash for a bigger name. decisions decisions....
 
I shoot Shiloh's and C. Sharps rifles. In an 1874 I'd go with the Shiloh although they are both great rifles. Are they both heavy barrels? I'd choose a heavy barrel if possible. Be aware that a heavy 32 might be too heavy for iron sight silhouette if that's something you are looking into.

There is a Pedersoli dealer in Campbell River, but it might be quicker to order from Marstar or Shooters Choice.

With the sharps you really need to consider where you are going to get spare parts, stuff WILL break on them at one point or another, particularly the firing pin and lever spring. If your planning to do some pretty frequent shooting with an 1874 consider this carefully.

Shiloh sends you a new part for shipping when the old one breaks, and its a drop in part. Other then dixie gun works I dont know where you are going to get pedersoli parts. I have nothing against pedersoli (I really like their rolling blocks), but I only planned on owning one 1874 and personally I have no regrets for the little extra a shiloh costs, they take good care of you if somethings up with the gun. C sharps has some good plane jane ones in stock for decent prices.

Our dollars at par right now, theres no reason to buy a pedersoli that ends up costing you nearly the same.
 
Wow, according to Goodman's website it's an 18 month wait before Shiloh will even start on your rifle, and then 3 or more months to build it! Man, a guy could die before he gets his rifle....

No one, you order from bill goodman or you deal with shiloh direct.

They always have something in stock, and it changes fairly often so something you like may be coming up. 45-70 is the most common on the rack gun by far.

That's pretty close. I have a .40-65 on order. The order was placed last September and I think they'll start on it in Jan or so. Then it'll take at least 3 months, probably more to build. Once that's done it'll probably sit at the border for another couple of months.

Ordering black powder rifles can be an exercise in patience :). Once they arrive you'll quickly forget the lengthy wait though.

Or just do what I did.
And buy one of their off the shelf guns.

I bought a number 1 from shiloh and never looked back.

That was just 2 years ago.

I have learned to cast and the shoot the gun with the MVA buffalo souls sites.
And attended a few BPCR shoots.
Fun and a challenge too considering the rams are at 500m and the size of a trash can lid.
Using open sites, black powder, and a gun who's design dates back to the 1870's something.

Met some of the nicest people in the shooting sports world too.
