Who sells Swiss Arms classic green in Canada?

I've been trying to source some spare parts for my rifles ('cuz I'm a bit of an over-the-top kinda' guy that way...) and wish there was at least some stock kept by a dealer or two in Canada. Over $1000 all in for a bloody bolt assembly (without carrier) and a three month wait from one of our more prolific dealers in Canada who have some access to this stuff... Great news that we have a new distributor for SA anyway.

Anyone know if it's possible for an individual to acquire a Swiss export permit to bring a few parts out of Switzerland and if so, how to go about it? Thanks!

We just received a good supply of parts. Send markus@theshootingcentre.com an email and he can probably help you out.

Strange that you got such a high quote, I was just quoted $400-$450 for a complete bolt (without carrier) and it even comes with my serial number etched on the side.

EDIT: I checked my records, and the quote was $475 + Tax and shipping.

They just got back to me last night with a quote of $505 + tax & shipping. They were including the carrier in the first quote.

They have promised to have better stock and better pricing. Time will tell.

Excellent I hope it is significantly better, I just can't justify the cost of that rifle in 2013 terms anymore....I noticed a dealer in the States getting some Swiss rifles in from Switzerland last year and there prices were comparable to ours but they have to jump through more hoops to get them in and our prices are close to that, I don't see the reason for it I think we are getting gouged big time on the line somewhere to Canada. I would like to pick one up someday but not for the prices being asked like $3699 at Al Simmons for a rifle that is no where near the value of that asking price.

$3699:puke:

Wow, that's ridiculous......Wolverine still has the best price for a new one at $3399. The cheapest I last saw new ones for was a $2999 from Frontier Firearms, but that was a couple years ago. With the prices for the new ones, and the way these rifles hold their value (apparently not in my hands but in most people's hands anyway ;) ), I just don't see the point in buying a new one. The going rate on the EE for an almost new rifle is about $3000 flat, why pay $600-$800 more for the same thing, especially when the used one probably comes with more stuff.

I spoke with someone from MD Charlton head office this morning, and confirmed, they ARE the new distributor for Swiss Arms rifles in Canada, however as stated above they are not a firearms retail outlet. The dealer will have to contact them and make arrangements for an order.

I was also told that stock should be better, and prices will be lower. Let's just hope there is a clause in place which prevents the dealers from marking the rifles up to what they are currently selling for.

I wonder if this means that you just have to go to a local dealer and throw your name in for one, then when MD gets enough orders they bring in a big shipment?

It seemed like a few years ago that a lot of dealers stocked the Swiss Arms, but with the price they're at these days I just can't see them moving as fast as they used to or dealers bringing ten at a time into their stores. It would be nice if you could just walk into a dealer and buy one off the shelf instead of putting your name on a list and then having to sit at home and play with yourself for 9 months waiting for it to show up...

The last time I put my name on a list to order a specific firearm from a dealer (through Stoeger) was over 2 years ago - and I'm still playing with myself...

The first shipment should be here in less than 30 days. Also FWIW we currently have several used Classic Green rifles with new barrels in stock.

The Classic Green rifles are not up on the site because they typically sell out pretty quickly. We don't have pricing on new imports as they are not at the distributor yet.

When the Swiss Arms Specials (Black, Green, Blue ...) first arrived in Canada the retail was $2999. We were reluctant to get in too deep due to the high price but we found the sales were very strong (we sold a couple hundred unrestricted models) over the years. When the price went up from the distributor, the retail ended up being aroung $3400-$3600 which shut down the volume sales on an already expensive gun. We had a hard time moving many at this new price and seldom kept them in stock, ordering only on a special ordere one at a time. A couple of years ago the (then current) distributor had a clearance on existing models and we pick up 60 units with the intent of keeping our mark up low per unit hoping to sell most in a short period of time. We again listed them at $2999 and they all sold in a couple of months. We have some ordered from the new distributor but the MAP will be about $3299...still on back order. Phil.
