Hi!

A friend and I finally figured 10 rounds is not enough for plinking with our 10/22s. We want to get higher capacity mags, but there are different models. I would like some advise from your personal experiences on who makes the best one, the best value, and where to buy it on the net!

Thanks for any advice!

Butler creek, steel lips. dont get the plastic ons. They wear out faster and to cause misfeed issues.

I have thousands through my 4 steel lips at home and never had an issue that was mag related.

Just buy more ten round ruger mags! But if you must have 25 rounds I think Tactical Innovations has the best ones. Total adjustable, and can be taken apart to clean. Tufferbuffer.com had them for sale but I think quantities were limited.

I'm sure the TI mags are good, but there is nothing wrong with the BC mags either, I've had no problems with my mags and I have alot of them.

Well I thought the question was what one is the best, not what will work. There is not much wrong with BC but I still feel TI is superior. Just my opinion, but truth be told I prefer the stock ruger 10 rounds, I just have more of them.

Butler Creek Steel Lips, about $30 bucks.

If you want to go one step higher on the quality scale go for the Pro Mags, there 5-10 bucks more depending on the retailer. But the butler creeks are what i use for my ruger

Butler Creeks are cheap to buy, available at almost every gun shop, so is the Butler Creek loader also, works great and makes it easy to load those 25 rounds :)

TI is fully adjustable to help it fit more snug in your rifle and you can take it apart to clean it. You can adjust the angle it feeds the ammo and make it as smooth as factory. But if you want a sloppy plug and play go with the BC.

I'm having trouble adjusting my TI 25 correctly even though I've gone over the instructions several times. Any tips?

TI mags
BC steel lip magazines aren't bad. I had a jam in one, and the bolt hit the jammed round and set it off. To it's credit, it continued to work.
Tried 90rds through a 30rd double stack shooter's ridge magazine today. 1st time had like 3-4 FTF. The last two times I had 1-2 FTF. The gun being dirty didn't help.

What kind of trouble? I found the only thing with mine is that I have to push it forward a bit after I install it. Mind you I have a Dlask receiver so I don't know if this is comon or not.

I also recently purchased a couple of shooters ridge magazines, one 30 round double stack and the 25 round single stack. Have yet to try them out though.

Sorry to hear you had trouble with yours.

It sounds like the TI magazine is getting the most stellar reviews, where is the best place to buy a couple??

So far my favourite has been the BC steel lips but would like to try the other options out there.

I initially used them out of the package and had no issues...........however with the screws all the way down (as they were in the package) I found them a bit loose and they were starting to mark up the bottom of the receiver. After I adjusted them however I would get jams in the first 1 or 2 rounds before they would cycle properly. Perhaps I adjusted them incorrectly? (I had switched brands of ammo by the way)...............hmmm
