It was when I was collecting marlins way back, it was 1 st year, about 98% the just a few rounds.
The one I really liked was a 44-40 trapper length carbine in exc condition, Marlin

I never loaded for the 40-82 so know nothing about loads, just load pistol as that was my main shooting interest.
I did load for a 38-55 Marlin Ballard for a while.

I don't have them anymore, and out of loading last while, but thanks for the thought. I did have a bunch of brass 30 yrs ago.
BTW , son is out in your country.

I purchased a hiwall winchester a few years ago , the rifle isn't in very good condition, it had a bulge in the barrel near the muzzle, I cut it back to 27 inches, although the bore is not the best I have shot it a lot with cast bullets and 2f black powder /260 gr if I do my part it will
Shoot 4 in groups at 100 yrs, never tried smokeless powder

Took a deer using my Winchester 86 carbine that has been in the family since 1949 using cast lead bullets with 28 grs IMR4198 as the propellent. It was only 75 yards. Groups at 100 yards were four inches with iron sights from a rest. Bullet was cast from an original Winchester bullet mold, not resized, greased by standing in melted bees wax and Vaseline and reloaded with an original Winchester 1894 tool. Brass was new RCBS 45 basic trimmed and resized accordingly.

Haha, umm, ya, wasn’t expecting that price tag, thought maybe a third of that. Wow.

The recipe I have use’s .45 Basic brass cut down annealed and reformed in sizer die.
It also mentions the use of 4198 powder, but doesn’t clarify which brand, but does mention the source is from Barnes, probably an older manual as the book this is from is older as well.
