Who shoots a CZ rifle

I've got a few; 550s in .375 and .416 Rigby, a .17 HMR fullstock and a 452 Varmint.

I found the 550 Magnums to have soft barrels and trigger parts. It was supriseingly easy to shoot the barrel out of the .375. Triggers seem to need resetting every other time you pick it up. Actions smooth up with use, the .375 got real nice about the time the barrel died.

The rimfires benefitted greatly from shareing a single YoDave trigger kit.

I got a 550 in 416 Rigby, 1.5 @ 50 metres rifle with handloads and open sight, scoped it will reach 100 metres @ 1.5, pretty hefty kick to it but i wont get any surprises when i go to Africa... JP.

This is of interest to me. Could you please elaborate on your round count on the 375 when you wore the barrel out? I've seen posts on the african hunting forums with people claiming several thousand rounds through a 375 with no issues.

I put 1400 rounds through it in 3 months getting ready for my first safari, and about 700 for the second. Took about 14 months from beginning to end. The only saveing grace was the loooong magazine that allowed me to chase the lands. Without that it wouldn't have made the first trip.

If I only wanted a 150 yard iron sight rifle it would good enough now; but why take 1/2 a rifle on an expensive overseas hunt? On the grand scheme of things barrels or new rifles are cheap, even just compared to the cost of shooting it out.

Thank you for the information.

I'm very fond of my 527 Varmint in .223:

It shoots Sierra 40 grain HPs into about 0.6 MOA 10 shot groups, has lovely wood, and an excellent adjustable trigger. What's not to like?

Just shot my 7.62x39 527 carbine for the first time today, only fired 10 rounds, made one group just under 2" at 50 yards, open sights, elbows rested on a shooting table. Not bad for its first 10 rounds:D lovely little handy rifle, love the open sights. CZ makes some great rifles, love the 452 series especially.

Still working up loads for my CZ527 223 and it is a tack driver. Looking to reduce my moa somewhat in the near future with some loads. They sure do make a pretty gun. Also those that are not aware the 527 series is a complete redesign of the Mauser action for the 22 CF cartridges-often referred to as the "minimauser". Weighs the same as my CZ452. Sweet little ride.

I was wondering who sells CZ center fire rifles, since I would like to find a CZ550FS in 308 to replace my existing hunting rifle.

On the CZUB web site, in the Canadian section, they list all the CZ importers for Canada. Wholesale sports have them for sale from time to time but they're not importers.

got a few CZ's, love them all! .22 heavy barrel, I shoot it all day long some days! 204 Ruger, she's aboslutely awesome, .17 HMR too, she's worth a gold metal, and a reg barrel .22 oh so dead on! Just gotta get a .17Mach2, now and replace my Marlin in that cal. CZ is "good". Real good! Not a Fan of the Lux, though!

Seems to me there is only one importer for the West Coast. I have no problem getting CZ from Reliable Gun here in Vancouver and Italian Sporting Goods also sells them. I have 2 rifles and 2 pistols and enjoy them greatly. Clean lines, well made, nicely fitted and not fussy with ammo any of them as well as accurate. Wholesale Sports has pretty much lost it for me and they dont stock any lefties either. They never have anything I want when I need it so my local dealers are a better bet. Pricing is about the same too.

I was in need of a .22 this last year because I was sick of having cheap semi-autos that are inaccurate. I'm not a spray and pray kind of guy. Gave my two semis away and bought this guy:

Amazingly accurate, good looking. Just a high quality rifle.
This is a handgun I parted with two years ago. I've been kicking myself since.:

I have several 22 rifles that are all accurate. I have a BSA Martini with a tang site, a Winchester 9422, and an American stocked CZ452 leftie. I love them all and wouldnt part with either of them. When I got my RPAL I went into a local store here and the young fella I was talking to turned out to be a leftie too. After going thru a bunch of pistols I settled on the CZ85Combat which is pretty much the same as the CZ75 except it has controls on both sides so is ambidextrous. Liked the 9mm so much I bought a 22. Yes they are all pretty easy on the eye along with being both accurate and reliable. I dont miss any of the semis I no longer have. The CZ452 will chew the bull out of a target at 100m with CCI Minimags in it all day long. Nothing much to do to any of it except clean occasionally. I waited a long time to own a CZ-much too long. The shop I frequent in Van here has a bunch of young guys working there and they all own CZ 22 rifles. I must have bought the first cz527 cuz there was quite a crowd when I opened it up.

I have a 550 FS carbine in 9.3x62mm and love it. Sub MOA and have two loads for it: 286 gr NP and 250 gr AB. Picked a set of Warne QD rings so I can switch out to the open sights.
Very well made for the price. I sold my old Husky 9.3 after setting this one up.
Shot a nice bull moose last fall in northern BC, about 50 yds facing on - 286 NP went end to end and out: soup can thru the heart.
Great moose gun :0)

I have nothing but great things to say about cz's all mine shoot amazing. My .17 is a lazer beam :)

I have one in 22LR 452 American. Shoots very nicely, fit and finish is also very good. The trigger just needs a little cleanup. I just received the gun a few weeks ago and had it out to the range a few times and was asked if I had cleaned the gun to take care of the trigger creep, I thought you only cleaned the guns when you were going to sell them?

I just need to take the stock off and adjust the trigger down a little for my liking.
