Who shoots a Kimber?

I was at The shooting Edge in Calgary and shot the Kimber custom II .45 side by side with the HK USP .45, and there was no comparison.
Kimber is the gun for me.

Red Leg tells me that they are very durable too, and he should know, all the abuse his rental guns take.

If you get to Calgary give them a try and see for your self.

+1 for the Kimbers.
I've had two of them (one was a custom II), get good mags
for it like the Kim-pro Tac-mag's and those puppies are accurate
as all he11.
Other may have different opinions, but I find the Kimbers to be
made very well, you won't regret buy'n one.

I'll say this about Kimber... they are Canada friendly and I'd buy one just for their customer service. Kimber is old school! :D

I was going to buy the Gold Match II in stainless...but I bought the Super Match II instead...beautiful gun and more accurate than I am. You won't regret buying a Kimber.

Looking at buying a Stainless Gold Match 2 in a .45. Curious who shoots a Kimber and how do you like it?

I have several Kimbers. Regretably, they suffer the same minor ailments that most 1911 type guns suffer and mine were no different. They are fussy with regard to loads vs. recoil spring weight. Definitely want to take a few boxes of what you will be using most of to the range with a set of recoil springs, a busing tool in plastic, and MOST IMPORTANTLY... a cloth bag of some type if you have to strip the thing out of doors so the flying spring doesn't get lost in the grass.

They also suffer from the same Fail to Extract issues as everyone else and they need to be kept clean, very clean. And the extractor needs to be tweaked for a proper 2 - 3 # pull for extraction.

Lastly, you need to use good mags with good springs in order to prevent stovepiping and to ensure that the next round gets stripped off properly each and every time.

If you think that you can adhere to these few rules, then Kimbers are great and I loooooovvvvee. them.

If you can't take the time to strip them right down to clean them after every shoot then you are going to have problems with FTEx. No doubt about it. Easy to fix this by just ... well, cleaning them!
