Who shoots a S&W model 52 (.38 wadcutters)

I had a nice one years ago and lent it to someone and he would not give it back, just a box of money, damn.
I shoot solid wadcutter and win231, as at that time ,I had about 30 lbs in stock.
Best shooting pistol I ever had.
Do not over load it, and cost very little to feed it, ( at least 20yrs ago it did)

Haven't seen one of these in years. IIRC, they are single action only, right? Does the slide mounted safety drop the hammer too or is it a #### and lock only?
Beautiful gun, congrats to all who have one.

You are correct single action only and the safety doesn't drop the hammer.

I use 2.7 grains of Bullseye under a flush seated 148 grain HBWC in my 52-2. It is a very soft shooting pistol and as others have said very accurate.

Yes, the bullet must be seated flush. I have a Lyman 148 gr. hollow base mold that I bought several years ago thinking it would be great in my 52. Trouble is the bullet had a 'tit' (for lack of a better term) that stuck out maybe 1/16' of an inch beyond the leading edge of the bullet. Rounds loaded flush to the leading edge wouldn't fit in the mag. I had a friend who was a machinist turn the top 1/16" off the mould, essentially removing the 'tit'. Then the bullets loaded in the mag fine and shot well. However, it was a single cavity mould and casting was painfully slow so I gave up on it. I now use a six cavity Lee tumble lube 148 gr. DEWC mould and the gun shoots just as well as it did with the HBWC. Also shoots extremely out of my S&W Model 14 so it's now my go to bullseye and PPC target bullet.
