Who shoots a Thompson Center Encore Single Shot Rifle

I have to admit - i've looked at these and really like the concept. There's a few cartridges i wouldn't mind having in a single shot, and a single gives you a nice compact gun with a longer barrel.

They're some pretty to look at too :)

I just priced an Encore blued choke tube shotgun barrel with no vent rib... 269 bucks... how do you like them apples.
I like them a lot... I have been out of town till this morning or I would have got back to you sooner...please post the contact details for that barrel... I want to buy it... thanks much....

I hate them.
They represent something I despize and therefore I don't have anything good to say about them.
X2 ......T/C is crap......Owned a .308 with a Bullberry custom .240 Gibbs......a Mike Belm trigger, floating forend hanger and tighter hinge pin, nothing (including countless hours on the reloading and shooting bench) helped it shoot under 2MOA with the factory or the custom barrel.( even sent the scope back to Leupold for a checkup)
This action may have been out-of-true. The factory .308 chamber was not concentric with the bore.......all this points me towards, piss-poor quality control, at least. I finally gave up and sold it, disgusted.

Thanks BigRedd.... that is great! .... I actually just came across an email (I hadn't opened while I was out of town) from AccuracyPlus from Jeff with that price... I will order it early next week. It is $230 cheaper (eg almost half) of the other quote... I am a happy guy!

Those with bad experience with how the T/C rifles shoot "failed" to realize that the pi$$-poor results could be from the SHOOTER themselves?

I would tend to agree with you if I had only one rifle and had no experience in shooting, but when I have a number of rifles that I can shoot good groups and take out my T/C and not have the same result (pi$$-poor) , I would have to say it’s the rifle...

Tsavo,
I ended up with that 240 gibbs on the bullberry barrel.I cannot say anything about the 308 barrel for accuracy as I havn't shot it yet,but the 240 will shoot under a 1/2 inch all day long(way under I might add) I am shooting 75 grn bullets with a healthy charge of 7828 and it shoots great.By chance have you still got the open sights for the 308 barrel????
