in my .22 & 12 gauge :D

We are counting shotguns and rimfires?

Okay...

Why I dont' handload rimfire:

It is pretty much impossible and not worth it

Why I don't handload shotgun:

Between cheap target ammo and the small amopunt f hunting ammo I use in a year, it is not worth it.

All I shoot is factory ammo. I have no problems with it. (With the exception of a couple 12ga shotshells.)

I use Winchester and Federal and it never lets me down. Shoots exactly as the ballistic charts say.

I'm sure re-loading is a fun pastime, but I just don't have time to get into it.

only when I've been lazy or too busy to load enough for shooting.

or when loading componants are not available like 38S&W where you have to empty the brass before you can reload them :)

but I save all my brass for reloading (or other projects)

I load 12 and 28 gauge target loads and most upland hunting loads but use factory for waterfowl.

After many years of reloading centrefire rifle I've almost stopped. I shoot .223 Remington and .270 Winchester and factory loads pretty much cover everything I need and shoot well in my rifles. The only thing preventing me from off loading my reloading equipment is a preference for a 110 grain V-Max load in .270 for coyotes. If it were available as factory ammo I'd be done reloading rifle entirely.

For Pistol I got a really good deal on some 9mm and I really hate loading 9mm.. But for 40, 45, 38 and whatever pistol I load for I make it...

I don't reload Shotgun at all...

As for Rifle.. I'm just starting to load for it.. (and I'm off to a whizbang start .243, 308, 223 and 7.62X39 at the same time) Mind you I got 1500 rounds of 223 from Dan amd target sports has a decent deal on the 7.62x39R I may buy some of it and put off loading for those two for a bit...

Ever since I dismantled a bunch of factory ammo and saw the difference in powder weight, bullet weight and actual velocities I will never put that kind of crap through any rifle that I own. But just like everyone else I buy .22 and 12guage ammo.

I move around so much that having reloading equipment would be too much hassle...and I never get to shoot enough anyway with no "home base". I'm hoping that all changes in '06/'07 and one of the first orders of business will be to set up a reloading bench. :D

To be honest - I can't afford NOT to reload. A lot of guys say that reloading won't save you any money, as you'll just end up shooting a lot more for the same amount. I never really bought that argument - I always shoot a lot. Whether factory or reloads, I'd shoot the same amount. And some calibers are a lot more economical to load for than others. 223 - for example - can be had very cheaply, and you'll not save as much per round loading for it (what you WILL get though is a GOOD projectile instead of a crappy FMJ, and all the consistency/accuracy benefits). The Hornet - I can load it for less than 1/4 price of factory, and that's with the SAME VMAX bullets factory shells come with. If I wanted to, I could load cheaper bulk bullets for even less.

I reload...

ALL of my pistol ammo
ALL of my hunting ammo

But... I also use milsurp ball ammo when I want to plink...

Cheers
Jay
