who shoots in the winter?

Just wondering who else shoots year round? I'm heading out again this morning. It's -18 with a pretty stiff wind. In another thread a member has a rifle build complete but won't be able to shoot it until the snow goes? I actually shoot more in the winter/spring than I do in the summer. Out in the mountains here there are a lot less folks around in the winter and I have a lot more long range places to shoot.
 
I shoot targets year round. It's not the cold that bothers me, but the wind. Meaning, although this year has been warm, it's been ####ty because it's always so damn windy.
 
Outside conditions don't really bother me. If I get a day off to shoot, I am going to shoot, rain, or shine. In fact, I'd say some of the best shooting days have been when it was nasty out.

I try to test at least my hunting, and my comp gun out at the hottest and coldest I can find.
 
I shoot more in the spring, fall, and winter than I do in the summer. The summer is too hot. In the cooler months your barrel stays cooler longer/cools down faster.
 
it depends, if it is -20 out, I tend to stay in and make ammo. I also change it up with sledding, although this year there hasn't been enough snow until this weekend for sledding but I not heading out to do either.
I work outside 5 days a week, so sometimes it is nice to stay in and enjoy the warmth of a nice fire.
 
Make a snowman army, dress them up with wood armour and gunz, then blast the fvckers to hell. I love winter..
 
I shoot on my own property, year-round. Cold doesn't bother me, but I tend to stay inside if it's raining. There's always tomorrow. I usually shoot at least 4 or 5 times weekly. It's 90% .22 rimfire, with a few centerfire rounds each session. When I eventually get off my lazy butt and hang a gong target or two, it'll be hard not to make some noise every day.
 
How else are you supposed to know if your winter survival kit works and rotate its contents?

At my wife farm house we shoot from inside the barn, at 140 metres whe have a huge back stop, we are protected from the wind and there is no peoples 2 km each side, doing that since the mid 80, fun place to shoot... Cheers. JP.
